I have Win7-64, and able to run Wingman. If you have the CD, it is okay, you can install both the joystick and USB drive, but the better option is that you go to the Logitech site, and download the latest drivers for the Wingman. Wingman is the older version of 3D, but the drivers of Logitech extreme, 3D are workable with the old Joystick Wingman., and they should work well on the Window 7 , 64 version
For your Extreme™ Digital 3D, pls click here. You would be asked for your PC's Operating System (Vista or XP or others), thereafter which file you need (Logitech Gaming software or the Wingman Clear Calibration Utility) and finally whether for 32 bit or 64 bit. Pls follow onscreen instructions.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
Hi !
I suggest you to install the software including drivers + profiler here:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/486/3361?WT.z_sp=Image
Then you can download pre-defined profile for your game here:
http://www.wingmanteam.com/profiles/profiles_users.htm
Thanks and have a nice day !

Try a Windows system restore to the date before you installed the Wingman 4.10.
It may ask to install the Wingman 4.10 again, but use the program uninstall. If you have to do the windows uninstall again, then what you can do is look into the startup by typing msconfig.
Well you can try download lgs501.exe and run it. This scans on Logitech drivers on your system and can even update them.
( Not checked though, cause I am running on Vista )
It does not work with vista at least not for me. And besides with XP and Vista you shouldn't have to install it anyway as both OS's have a feature called plug and play which means that when you plug it in via a USB port Windows Xp automatically recognize it and its driver. Thats one thing about XP thats so great XP just about recognizes every joystick and game pad driver there is without installing the pads software.
