XM radio keeps going out

Just bought a 2008 GMC Acadia. We just had a Kenwood 570 radio installed and the XM radio goes out randomly for long periods of time and also the radio will go out when making a hard right turn. I have taken it back to the car audio place 4-5 times and they are unable to fix the problems. The last time I took it in they connected a Maestro GM5 interface and harness and this did not help. If you have any suggestions or answers I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks, Robin

Sounds like an antenna short. Check the routing of the antenna, or better yet, just purchase a new antenna.

First, all these mechanics that you took your car to, did they have the full Volvo diagnostic software? In other words, were they able to access ALL computer systems that the lights were on for? If not, take your car to the Volvo dealer or a shop that has the proper software.
If the alternator does not charge or drops out while the engine is running, it will cause ALL the warning lights to come on.
Did you try adjusting the dash light dimmer control?

SOURCE: 2008 hyundai getz wont start

I just worked on a different model Hundai with the same sounding problem. I discovered that the starter was drawing to much voltage and starving the ignition system not allowing it to fire. I ran an amperage draw test and when it was discovered that it was the starter that was the culprit we replaced the starter with a rebuilt starter and it cured the intermitant starting problem. I hope this helps solve your problem.

2008 GMC Acadia radio won't turn on

The radio and BCM needs read for codes. No reason for the radio not to work after a FOB program. Just a guess, but if the battery power was to low, radio is locked out.

My 2008 Acadia is overheating. About 6 months ago it overheated but cooling levels were fine. Nothing was repaired and everything started working as expected. Yesterday, it started overheating again. ...

it sounds as though your acadia may not actually be overheating, it sounds more like the tempeture sensor is bad, if its "froze" at a certain reading this could fool your computer, you should be able to replace this part for around 20 or 30 dollars. hope this helps
