Why would you let the battery die? That is suicide for multi-cell batteries. More batteries have been wrecked by fully discharging than you can imagine. On the old NiCads, which are NOT used in cell phones, they recommended discharging the cells completely at one time. The problem is you CANNOT discharge the individual cells when they are packaged together. If you try to discharge them, one cell goes flat before the others and is reversed charged destroying it. All the new fang-led cell phones burn the power... mine is dead in a day. WORSENING the problem is if the phone is on and in a weak signal area because it cranks up the power to tell the cell tower it is available and uses as much power as it take to communicate... this occurs all the time, not just while you are talking on the phone.

HTC Phones are known for short battery life if you are using it only expect 2-4 hours
If you are not using it at all and have turned off wifi 3g the screen music and background apps and don't make any calls/txts expect as many as 18 hours.

The batteries in those devices are Li-Ion battery (look it up on wikipedia, if you want chemical details). They are VERY sensitive to deep discharging.
They are composed of several cells - and even one deep-discharge can fry at least one. In that case, polarity in this particular cell drops and can even be reversed, rendering the battery useless.

That is why all phones switch themselves off way before that occurs - in theory. If the phone hangs, it cannot switch itself off and abovesaid happens.

So what you can do: First, get a new battery. Yours is bad. They are not expensive at amazon or similar.
 
Then, either
a) Prevent freezes. HTC Touch Pro 2's are not know to freeze out of blue sky (and mine rarely did), so I guess you keep on using an application that crashes you device. I suggest installing your apps one by one to see, which causes the crash. Meanwhile, rely on b).

or

b) Prevent deep-discharging. Keep it charged above 50% all the time until you are sure to get no more crashes. It will not hurt the battery to be charged often and only marginally to have that much capacity constantly.

For better battery performance, perform the following tasks,
1. Switch off the bluetooth. If needed put into hidden mode.
2. Switch off the wifi netword scanning (if applicable)
3. Reduce the screen brightness.
4.While keeping in pocket, take care to ensure that the mobile screen not at all touched or pushed inside pocket even though the screen is locked.
5. Charge th emobile phone for continuous 5 hours and dont charge until fully discharged. Follow this for atleast 5 times.
Then you can see the improvement in batery backup time.

Knowing your phone's behavior, Its not usual that the battery if fully charged, will drain within the day, especially that you said even if it is not being used. I would highly advice that you avail the warranty of this phone since you have just purchased that unit. Do not rely on Nokia's customer service online. Go to the store where you made the purchase and avail the warranty. They should change the battery pack.

it is a software problem go and check at www.lge.com ROM for ur mobile and update it , or go to service centre for that it is a software issue

take the phone and have it either reflash or the main-board replaced.

I saw on another forum two good tips.

1. Do not use a case with a magnetic clip.

2. Take off the battery cover and put tape over the two small etched squares that you can see one at each end on the inside of the cover.

I did this and up to now my battery has doubled its life. Still two bars after 1.5 days of medium use.
