You can speed up your PC with the help of these tips given below:-

1) Defragment & Optimize files in the hard disk regularly.
2) Disable the unwanted start up programs.
3) Defragment the registry if needed.
4) Uninstall unnecessary programs (Games, crapware, toolbars, etc.)
5) Install latest Windows updates.

For task 1, 2 and 3 use reliable program like I always use "RegInOut" for the best performance. Remember that Windows need above to be optimized from time to time. So regular maintenance is required.

Desktop working slow

Many computers have just too many unnecessary programs running. Google "Service Settings" or something similar for advice on how to set your services. Setting explanations: Automatic will start at boot time. Manual allows Windows to start a service when needed. Disabled will stop a service from starting, even if needed. Be very cautious about disabling a service for that reason.
