unit maybe internally dirty not letting it cool properly get canned compressed air and bloww out throughly!!! :)

Open System Preferences:
Click on the Lightbulb Icon entitled "Energy Saver"

Adjust the preferences for each of the two options:
Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for:
1min 15min 1hr 3hrs Never
Put the display to sleep when it is inactive for:
1min 15min 1hr 3hrs Never

Set these for Power Adaptor and Battery separately.

does your screen saver go in after 15-20 minutes ? because if so then you might try disable it and check if it freezes. does it also freeze when you are using it or when its idle ?

Check the freon level, too low of pressure in the low side can cause freezing

it sounds like overheating....send it back...or call the company

Is this problem happening when playing back from DVD, VCR or internal disk?
