How do i convert PDF to ePub on Mac to read on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch?

At the very beginning of this article I would like to make the difference between ePub and PDF clear:
PDF is pre-paginated and not easily re-flowed. You can see upper moving left when you zoom in a PDF, and PDF is a print and print-archive format. ePub content, like XHTML, is re-flowable. If paginated, when zoomed, there will be more "pages", OPS is a re-flowable "electronic content" format, and that's why Adobe's Digital Editions has adopted ePub.

Okay, I guess many of you got lots of eBooks in PDF and other formats, but many e-readers, for instance Sony Reader, Barnes & Noble Nook, Hanlin eReader and phones/devices using Android only support specific formats just like ePub with their default reader apps, especially newly-released and hot iPad\iPhone 4. What's the best way to convert those PDFs to ePub?

Yep, you may say "we got so many freebies converter work on PC", but what about the people who is a Mac user? How do they transfer PDF on Mac to read on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch? This is the reason why I am writing this article. How do I convert PDF to ePub on Mac to read on iPad\iPhone\iPod touch?

Here is my procedure, you may learn something from it and if you have any ideas, you can comment on it. In the following steps, you will need these tools: AnyBizSoft PDF to EPub for Mac (Which I strongly recommend it) and iTunes.

First of all, you need to convert your PDFs to ePubs on Mac, and then you can transfer newly minted eBooks to your i-device via iTunes.

Transfer ePub to i-device
iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the second- and third-generation iPod touch users can read ebook directly on their devices via iBooks app too, since iOS 4 is released on 21st June 24, 2010. Next, we have to transfer your newly minted epub books into iTunes. Locate your .epub files and drag them into the Library section of iTunes. If you didn't have any ebooks in iTunes to begin with, a new Books folder will be created for you. Note: Please ensure that you drag your epub files into the Library section and not directly into your iPad\iPhone\iPod touch (under Devices). Doing so will cause iTunes to throw an error message and crash.

All that's left to do is sync your books onto your iPad\iPhone\iPod touch. This process isn't any different than syncing music, apps, movies etc.

Now you can enjoy your eBooks on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch! Happy reading!

Address book on iPhone

Yes, there are many software solutions out there and I just don't have much time to try most of them. Lately I got news that Macgo Mac iPhone Data Recovery is holding a giveaway until the end of June, which could save you $69.95. It's a chance to get a close look.

Phone number backup

You can do it via following steps.1.Update iTunes to the latest version if you have not updated recently. To find out if you need to update, launch iTunes and click "File" followed by "Check for updates." If you are on a Mac, click "iTunes" followed by "Check for updates." If you do not have the latest version installed, a dialog box will appear asking you if you want to download the latest version. Click the "Download iTunes" button.
2.Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable that came with your iPhone. iTunes will automatically recognize your iPhone and an icon will appear in the left-hand column of iTunes.
3.Click the iPhone icon and the "Summary" pane will appear.
4.Click the "Contacts" tab located across the top of iTunes.
5.Click the check box next to the "Sync contacts with" field.
6.Click the drop-down menu in the "Sync contacts with" field and select a program to sync your contacts with. If you are on a Windows machine, you can choose from four options: Yahoo! address book, Windows address book, Google contacts, or Outlook. If you are on a Mac, your contacts will be synced with the Address Book utility.
7.Click the "Sync" button and all of the contacts on your iPhone will be saved to your computer's address book. Included in every contact will be the contact's phone number. Subsequent syncing will add any new contacts you have entered manually on your iPhone. Hope it can help you.

Downloading contacts from Palm to iphone

Just save the contacts as described above "Bring up Palm Desktop. Make sure your Palm phone is sync'ed up. Show the Address page, select all contacts (Ctrl-A), and export them with File, Export vCard... This puts all contact information into a single file as a sequence of vCards."
Then send the file you saved as an e-mail attachment - using any mail (i.e. gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc) - to your i-phone e-mail. Open this email on the i-phone and push the attachement - it then asked you if you want to add these, click (push?) yes, and select eithr merge or new and voila you got them.
