You might try a google image search for that make and model... generally speaking, machines thread right to left, top to bottom.

I have mid 1970's Janome sewing machine APPR. NO. V/74088750 my Instruction Book gone!

Make Model manual

It's quite possible the breaking thread is due to misthreading. AVOID using old or bargain bin thread!

Remove all the thread from the machine.
Make sure you are using a brand new needle.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
Set the top tension to the midway point.

Make sure the bobbin is wound uniformly and that no threads are sticking out beyond the bobbin. Thread the bobbin in the bobbin case and install it back into the machine. (Note: most machines, the bobbin will turn clockwise in the bobbin case when you pull on the thread tail.)

I have a 513 machine the bobbin thread wont let the needle pick up the thread.

it is very possible that the machine could be out of time & it would have to be retimed at a sewing machine shop

How do i fill bobbin, thread machine and bobbin?

Did you know all sewing machines are threaded in the same way. The parts just look a little different. If you can thread one machine you can thread them all. Dont you have an instruction book? If not get any instruction book for a simular looking machine. There are many you can dowload for free as a pdf file.
