Duo therm roof air is stuck in the heat pump mode, it won,t cool

This is a 1999 diesel pusher with two a/c units on it. The owner plugged the shore power into a 2 or 3 phase power supply. Now the front unit will only work in the heat pump mode. Even when it is set on a/c. The rear unit works off of the same thermostat and it works fine.

The heat pump has a reversing valve that MUST have power to it (to open it) so that your unit will cool My guess is that the reversing solenoid is bad (its is magnet). They aren't easy to get but not hard to replace. It could also be the control circuit board or a relay. No matter what is causing it, the problem is that your reversing valve is not getting power so that it can open and allow your unit to cool rather than heat.

Is it common for a rv rooftop air conditioner to leak water on to the roof? I have a Dometic Duo-Therm unit 579,590,595 series.

All AC units create condensation from the cooling of air (cold/cool air hold less water than warm air), it is worse in areas of humid air like the Midwest for example.

I would guess it's a defrost cycle if it doesn't too long. Otherwise, there are some funny thermostats indoor and possibly outdoor. Double check your Owner's manual it might explain, or help trouble shoot. No luck? Most MFG customer service people are

I have a jayco pop up camper with a Duo-Therm BriskAir roof top a/c. im having problem with it leaking water inside of the camper? Is there a drain hose? Or wat do u think is wrong? Thanks

Yes there are drain holes in base of upper unit (on roof), which may be plugged. Couple of questions though to see if we can better troubleshoot this for you.
-Do you remember seeing water (condensation) running off roof before when AC was used?
-Have you cleaned filter inside at ceiling lately?

Installing rv roof airconditioner heat strip

I see what you see also in the manual. The difference is the Heat Strip package that part is optional and the 600212-001 with the optional heat strips becomes the new 600315-001 I talked to Dometic Duo-Therm and the models are the same but they both are not heat pumps but the new heat strip package comes on when told to go into heat mode when you change the thermostat to heat. The part you purchased will fit both model numbers you listed for your roof top air conditioner. Thanks, Sea Breeze
