Hi everyone! I was wondering if any of you could help me with my laptop, Vista, and World of Warcraft. I've been having a little bit of trouble getting World of Warcraft to work on my Asus G50Vt-x5 laptop. The specs are capable of running the game, but I have a feeling Vista is to blame. I've downloaded the game twice already, but each time I log in, it says an update was installed successfully and then asks me to restart world of warcraft. When I exit world of warcraft it then opens up a brand new window and begins to reinstall world of warcraft despite the fact that it is already on my laptop. Is this normal? I just don't know what can be wrong. This gaming laptop was even advertised with WoW wrath of the lich king a few weeks ago so I'm sure that it works with it. please help

Hello, when you begin to install it, do you install the updates? If that options is selectable, disable it and take the basic install, then after you're done, go into the menu to manually install updates.

Answer this question, and I'll see if I can help. I"m not a gamer, but I'll see if my knowledge of Vista can help... and yes, Vista is the problem, so we'll have to try to outsmart it. I also recommend that as soon as Windows 7 comes out - get it.... it works better on my computer than Vista ever thought of doing.
Here's the question: When installing the software, can you select whether or not to let it install the updates? If that options is selectable, disable it and take the basic install, then after you're done, go into the menu to manually install updates.
CAUTION: If you're going to try to re-install, you must first uninstall the previous installation or you'll be wasting your time as the old configuration will NOT be overwritten in Vista - again, its Vista, and not the game.
2nd question: Have you ever edited the registry? This one is important, so let me know.
