Freezer works, but fridge barely cools.

I was told that this fridge was working fine. It was sitting in a storage for some time and I was the first in some time to use it. After transporting it on its back in a truck I let it set for a full day then turned it on. I left both settings on 4 out of 5. The freezer works great, but the fridge doesn't cool at all. Any help or guidance would be great. My next line of attack is to unplug and let it set for 5 or so hours and restart it. Semper Fi, Brian

I took the fridge ceiling assembly apart and it wasn't blocked by ice, but I will check to see again to see if it is being obstructed by anything else. Is the fridge simply cooled by cold air regulated coming from the freezer? Actually my fridge is a Roper RT16DKXBW01.

There is a "box" looking thing inside fridge. A fan sends cold air into the fridge. See if the port is blocked/iced up

Freezer keeps building up ice on the condenser i think, and after a few day sitting the bottom part of the freezer freezes and the rest dont

Hi,

I'm not sure what system you have but typically there is a defrost timer on the back of the fridge. Often you can barely detect where it is, as only the stem sticks out.
What worries me is the amount of moisture in your fridge. You did not indicate how long to make the build up, check your seals carefully with a dollar bill.

Whirpool wgi fridge freezer, fridge not cooling?

Most frideges get all their cooling from the freezer. There will be a fan and duct in the back of the freezer that pushes cold air down into the fridge. If the duct is blocked with ice or the fan motor has quit. Your freezer will work fine but the fridge will barely cool at all. Check that the fan runs when the compressor is running, ( turn both temp knobs to the highest cooling and leave door open until comp. comes on). If the fan runs your duct is plugged. If not you need a new " Freezer Fan Motor". Most are simple to replace and cost around $100.00.

Freezer is working fine but the Fridge part is not

i take it the unit is frost free you need to replace the defrost element in the freezer whats happening is your freezer sends cold air through small holes to the fridge compartment but when the freezer cant self defrost those holes freeze over thus no cold air into the fridge compartment get a tech in to check the element shoulnt cost more than $ 80.00

Fridge in storage for 4 yrs, now not cooling

Good day,
After that much time, be sure the fan motor in the freezer compartment is running, as well as the fan motor on the back bottom behind the cover by the compressor. Either could well have frozen up after 4 years of storage.
As well a refrigerant leak could have developed because of the time frame. However, if it is less then 5 years old, the sealed system would still be under factory warranty.

LG Refrigerator has no cold air for fridge but freezer works fine

Sounds like the freezer fan(FF)is wearing out, This problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan spins but not fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. This repair costs parts and labor around $300.00

Frigidaire 7.5 cu.ft. Top Freezer the fridge part doesn't cool; freezer is fine.

It should be under warranty, retry he is probably right, run for 24hrs and it should work ok, if you ever defrost you should turn off for 24hrs and leave the door open. Regards Advisor
