It sounds like it would be really annoying to have a door stick so much that it wakes you up when it's opened. My front door does something similar, and it's really embarrassing when I have to wrench it open to let people inside. I think I'm going to have a repair service take care of my problem. Maybe you should too. http://abledoorcompany.com/garage-door-r...

Did you install the doors or a contractor? Sounds like the doors are not fitting the opening properly

Passandra, If possible ask the contractor, in a nice way, to return and remove a little of the paint in the places that the doors are scrubbing and squeaking. Seems like, they didn’t consider the added thickness of the paint when the paint was applied. I have seen doors and windows fit perfectly before painting and are almost impossible to open or shut properly after painted. Even high humidity will call the doors or windows to get tighter due to swelling when they were a very tight fit before and after painting. I really hope this will help you and the contractor will respect your needs. JT

How to turn off the doorajar beeping on a Kenmore Freeze and what is causing the moisture buildup inside freezer.

Check that the door gasket is not perished or damaged causing the door not to close properly. Also check nothing is hitting or obstructing the door from pushing the door open switch closed. Some fridges have a lever or button sticking up out of the door which pushes the switch off. Check if you have one and see if its broken or missing the switch. Perhaps the door has dropped and not touching the switch? The moisture in the fridge indicates that air is getting into the compartment during cooling cycle. This is common if the door isn't closing properly or the gasket has failed.

Light will not go out when door is closes

It sounds like the door switch is sticking in the on position to me>
Does it go out if you manually press door switch with the door open?
If it doesnt then its almost certainly a sticking door switch. You may have to bring this unit completely out of the fridge to look at it and then test it for a permnanently closed contact.

Freezer door does not have the vacuum suction that it did have

Check the door is square to the frame and no shelves are sticking out stopping the door from closing properly. The seal should be magnetic and stick to the frame quite well.Check no metal strips have come off so the magnetic seal isn't attaching to the frame

Bosch freezer wont reach -18

Check/ clean condenser grille and see if it is very warm but not excessively hot. If it is only lukewarm, short of gas or frozen solid inside. If fanned, check fan ok.

Door was not shut tight. A loud buzzing sound recently went off and only stops when we unplug or turn off freezer. :(

loud buzzing I believe is an alarm that is waring you that the freezer is not cold enough. Door problems can be fixed. Test is to stick a dollar bill in the door and shut it. It should be a little hard to pull the bill out. Do this all over the door and find all the bad places. One problem is that the door can become warped by banging it against something or kids hanging on it etc. If you can see the warp you can actually bend the door back into place by holding the bottom of the door and moving the top in the necessary direction. Like jamming your foot against the bottom and pulling on the top or putting a box at the bottom of the door to hold it open and push the top. Next many time the bad fit door is because a hing has moved. All the hinges are adjustable. Usually you loosen the screws and move the door in the appropriate direction and re-tighten the screws. These screws are very tight so you need a big screwdriver and someone big to turn it. Lastly you can purchas a completely new door seal and put it in..

Freezer door left open

Your fridge should be fine, if you have surges that frequently getting a whole house surge protection package would make alot of sense. Surges are especially damaging to electronic circuits found in TV's computers, cell phones, answering machines aell frankly in just about everything. Well worth the charge.

Kenmore upright freezer not cold enough to freeze

Sounds like a door seal that isn't sealing all the way around. That would be my first replacement. Is the unit level back to front and side to side? Is it really full of food?

Call your local appliance parts house and get a magnetic door seal first. They aren't that expensive. But make sure you do not have the freezer overloaded, which could account for the lack of that vacuum sound.

Finally, is self defost? Even if it is, a lot of times the vent on the bottom in the back gets packed with ice. If it is, remove the food and use a hairdryer, being carefull to unplug the freezer first. Melt all that ice and empty your overflow tray at the bottom underneath.

Good luck!

Bubbling sound coming from the bottom of my freezer

There is a vacuum build up in the freezer compartment when you close the door. This can make the door difficult to open. You can overcome this by sticking a small lollipop stick to the bottom part of the door gasket. This will act as a vacuum breaker.

Can't open bedroom door

Check to see if the wood or the lock is binding. Try this:

Leave door open and turn on heat. After a few hours, try to close door and see if it's catching on the frame. If it is, plane the door where it is binding. You can check for binding by using chalk on the door and after closing it, see where the scrub marks are.

If it's the lock, take out the striker plate and using a chisel, make the cut out deeper. Install the striker plate and test it again.
