No picture, but power is on...

The TV was on for about 6 hours when it suddenly turned itself off, then turned itself back on, showing the green power light, but no picture.  In a few seconds, the power and OPC lights blink green once, then the power light blinks green twice.  It continues that pattern.

How many times does the POWER led blink per sec? (dont worry about the OPC)

2x = power supply (not as expensive to fix)
3x = Main board (expensive to fix)

Hi I have sort of the same problem with my sharp TV. It turns off when I play on my xbox elite. Sharp have been out 3 time and replaced a board in the back but insist there in no compatibility problem. I suggest you call sharp and maybe they will admit there is a problem with the TV they make.

Suddenly turned off without warning Sony KDS-50A2000

Hello,

All you need is to open the back cover of the television and check on for dry soldering at the power stage of the printed circuit board, also check for bulged capacitors, if found replace with same rating of voltages , but if otherwise Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this helout, Good luck....
