Dishwasher runs through full cycle but dishes are not coming out clean. Opening the dishwasher during the cycle shows there is water throughout the unit (on dishes in both top and bottom racks) and the water is hot but often the dishes are only marginally clean with very slight food residue left on dishes after end of cycle. This is true even after carefully loading so the arms are not blocked and even using a full "Pots and Pans" cycle. The detergent is being used from the dispenser and the cycle ends with proper drying and draining. What is the likely issue? A valve or seal? The cleaning blades? or the Pump Motor perhaps? At this point I practically completely hand wash them and the only thing the washer might be doing is a little further disinfecting without actually cleaning much. Help!
Your screens are plugged with food residue in the bottom of the unit. clean it out. You can use 1 gallon of white vinegar for your wash after you clean the screens. Start your washer to fill with water but after the water starts, open your door and pore all of the gallon in the unit. Let it now run for 4 minutes and stop it by opening the door. Leave the door slightly open for 1 hour. close the door and let the cycle continue for 4 more minutes. open the door and repeat it a couple of more times. Let it sit all night with the vinegar in it and in the morning - close the door and let the cycle continue to the end. This should help soften and clean out the food particles in the unit. You can repeat the process and get a better cleaning then too. All the scale should be off your dishes now.
Testimonial: "I think this is a good suggestion, I should have mentioned that I pulled the metal drain and plastic housing for the spray arm about 3 weeks ago and fully cleaned it with vinegar and scrubbing. Today I ran through the vinegar routine with you (although not leaving overnight yet.) Not sure yet this will fix the problem but a good suggestion for cleaning routine I think."

there is a new product out called the Difi dishwasher filtration system. it filters the water going into your dishwasher and will solve the problem. after i hooked it up(which takes no time at all) i could not believe how clean my dishes came out. it is very affordable and fits under the sink. you can check it out at www.dishwasherfilter.com
SOURCE: My dishwasher is not washing dishes on the top rack...
HI,
The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm.
Assuming the top spray arms are clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary . If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly . Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.
thanks,

make sure you are using a detergent with both a bleach and enzyme cleaner. Bleach for stains and enzyme for proteins. Also make sure you are using rinse agent. Hard water can cause a multitude of no clean issues.
