You may have it on power saving. Go to your menu and check to see what the time is set for to turn off if it is on power saving mode.

Testimonial: "I cant go to the menu because it wont stay on long enough, it goes off right after it turns on"

SOURCE: the tv will not turn on

Check if it the picture may be just faint. If it is it may be a bad ballast or weak back light. If there is none at all, it may be a problem with the power supply. This is the first circuit after the power chord. There may be loose connections, leaking or swollen capacitors or burnt resistors or the IC or the entire circuit may be bad. This is a common issue with these type of devices. While at it check the rest of the circuit for the same items. There are cases where the problem is with the main board.

SOURCE: my mitsubishi 60 inch tv

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Broksonic Flat Panel TV, tried to turn back on TV and Green LED light is blinking and screen pops up a few sec with white and colored lines and the turns off

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

If you have not tried it you may want to see if the voltages listed come up with boards disconnected from the power supply one at a time---This could be anywhere from micro to the panel.

Hi,

May I know what is the exact model number of your TV, it is located at the rear cover, manual, and on the receipt. It will help diagnose accurately where the fault came from and confirm the blinking error code.

Time to get a new TV. I have similar problem. In my case, the set turns off, LED blinking green for about a minute or 2, then the set will turn on by itself. Something the LED started to blink yellow after blinking green and then shuts off. I can turn it back on. This happens 3 or 4 times in an hour. After that, the TV stays on for as many hours as I want until I shut it off.
And then the problem repeats everytime I turn it on from a cold start.
I have my eyes on the 50 inch Plasma from Panasonic. Bestbuy has one for 999.99.
