My Bosch Nexxt 500 plus had the same problem and I was able to fix it. Will post this to see if this site will work and will then post my solution in the comment section. Saved well over $200 and probably much more between a new pump and a service call.

If cleaning the debris trap doesn't work and if you're handy you can try this. My problem was intermittent and E 13 code. UNPLUG MACHINE!!! With a shop vac, remove water from debris trap or any method at your disposal, a wet/dry vac works slick. Turn off water supplies and remove from back of the machine. Disconnect drain pipe and move washer to where you can lay it on it's side. Remove back panel, about 20 torx screws. Remove top panel, 2 torx screws and gently lift from rear and pull to remove. From the rear view the pump is on the bottom behind the debris trap. Wedge a towel between the drum and the right side of the machine so drum is supported when the machine is on its side. With help if needed, lay the machine on it's side so the pump is on the high side and towel on the bottom (this sucker is heavy). Remove plug from back of pump by pressing clip and gently pull off. I removed what looks a large rubber manifold, 2 spring clamps and one hose clamp. Note the inserts on this part that Bosch made so that when you put it back together all the parts line up. I thoroughly cleaned this part on the inside and found lots of debris that would eventually get to the debris trap. Disconnect the drain tube from the machine and not the pump. Remove pump, debris trap and drain hose as a unit by pushing and sliding the 4 rubber stabilizer pads on bottom of machine. Carefully pull out as a unit and stay away from wires that you encounter. BE PATIENT! Disconnect hose from pump by pushing the small inserts and gently pulling. Mark where the pump meets the debris trap so it goes back on in the same spot. By hand, gently push the pump against the trap and turn counterclockwise about a half inch and the parts will come apart. My problem turned out to be gunk in the pump itself. Pull impeller from pump assembly and note the rubber O ring, don't damage it! These parts are spring loaded and should separate easily. I cleaned the pump parts in the kitchen sink with hot water then outside with brake cleaner to remove all the gunk. I siliconed the O ring as it was not damaged (don't know where I would get a replacement). Thoroughly clean the pump and don't get the motor wet. I was amazed at the sludge that came out, no wonder it didn't work! Now would be the time to replace the pump if needed. That's up to you. Put it all back together and be patient with the rubber manifold noting the inserts. Do the spring clamp on the pump first, the machine drain next then the large manifold hose clamp last. I swore a lot but got it done. The drain hose can be easily installed anytime. The machine works like new now.

SOURCE: Bosch Error Code 13 Washer won't drain

First, unplug your washer. After that find the little round plate below your drum opening on the exterior of the washer. It should have a small hole in it. Use something to gently push trough this hole and twist the cover off, Inside there you will find the drain access. Be careful, if there is water in your drum this will make a mess when you unscrew the drain access. Take the usual precautions and unscrew the drain access slowly until it is off. Remove any obstructions and replace access door and cover. Clean up any mess and plug back in your washer and try again. takes about thirty minutes to an hour depending on how much water is in the drum.

SOURCE: Bosch Washer flashing E:

John-I have the same problem. I called service, they told me to unplug it (or turn off the breaker) for 30 mins, then turn back on. That should reset it. However, for me, it didn't do a thing. He said if that didn't work it's time for a service call.

Bosch 500 washer won't finish rinse cycle. Flashing error code13

Timed out on drain cycle, basically you either have an outlet blockage or something is trapped in the pump, you can check the pump by opening the bottom right flap on the front panel, manually emptying the w/m and checking the pump filter for coins etc. Also, check the outlet isn't blocked.
Good Luck.

My Bosch front loading washer is flashing E:13 and won't open

Hi, i had an E-13 error code on my Bosch 500 series washer. The drain pump impeller was plugged. Access the drain impeller at the bottom front right corner. Just put a pen in the hole and turn the cover. Then you need to manually drain the washer. I used a shop vac by just turning the cap until it started to leak and vacuum the water as it comes out, this takes quite a while. When you get it drained you can take the cap completely off. When I did I found a wipe in the impeller. I took it out and put it back together and the washer worked just as before.

Take care

Error code E:13 on my 500 plus series washer

Hi,
The E13 error code on your Bosch washer refer to a drainage problem or the pump time might have been exceeded
Either it might be due to a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE" detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle. You should clean water drainage pipe and/or drain hose. Turn selector to off and restart 'drain, program or, on 500 plus machines, the 'refresh' program. It also says this is caused by using too much detergent. Bosch recommends using half of what the manufacturer recommends when using HE detergents. They don't recommend regular detergents. First run the short wash or refresh cycle without detergent and hopefully your lines will clear.

Thank you !!

Code E13

For a Bosch washing machine, Error 13 is pumping time exceeded. So, in general, the issue is pump related. Things to check would be if the pump is blocked (it can be cleaned out if you can get the service door in the front panel off), check the wiring connections to the pump, and check the drain hose to make sure it is not blocked.
