How to capture recorded vedio from Panasonic NV-GS15 Mini DV Digital to Laptop

You can use an USB analog to digital converter for the analog outputs or the firewire/DV/iLink connection for the digital output, with the capturing software you can then have your videos on files or disks.

To get the videos on your PC you will need a firewire cable to connect (USB is not working for videos on this model). plug it in, Open up windows movie maker, click 'capture from video device' Choose your cam, Click next, Choose best quality, Make sure ur cam is set too playback mode, Click play on your cam and start capture then click stop capture when finished. No other software is required.

if no fire wire port ,try usb port and an editing program with capture options ...if both ways are not easy, try the a/v output and capture it from there .

The Panasonic NV gs 15 can only be used as a webcam with the USB cable.
You need a 1394 firewire / DV cable to transfer the video to your pc.

You can try VideoStudio version 9, I use this for all my video capture and the quality is perfect but you have to have a huge capacity hard disc if you want a very exceptional video quality. By the way, my sister gave me a camera like yours just last month but she lost the CD, just want to have a favor.... if you could send me a full copy of the CD for the NV GS 15. my email address is [email protected]. Did you use firewire connection?

Solution A: make sure you are using the correct cable for what you are doing (eg USB for webcam and importing photos and Firewire for transferring video footage

most desktops have firewire plug in them but laptops don't usually

to get a firewire plug in a laptop you need a PCMCIA to Firewire Cardbus (ask your local retail store for one or buy one on ebay etc.)

after that put the cardbus in your PCMCIA slot and restart

then go to Windows Movie Maker and press "capture from video device"

Use USB data cable which u get with ur cam.Install the panasonic software also packed with cam.And get ur video copied to pc.But this is a slow process because of Movie copied while playing.

U get usb cable and a software cd with ur cam.Install the software and attach ur cam to pc with the help of USB cable and get ur movies copied from cam to pc
