Rainbow line will come across screen and then goes blank. This is an intermittent problem. Normally if I turn it off and back on, it works. Now it does not.

I have seen a lot of sets where the problem only happens when the set is first turned on---99% of the time one of the two STK-392-110 CONVERGENCE chips this set uses is Flakey--intermittant---The only way to know is replace both of the convergence IC's and see what you have---a bad IC can cause the set to shut down---and sooner or later the set will just shut down and not come on at all.

Let me know if you need more information about this type of repair as I have done hundreds of sets with this type of problem----every one I have ever seen where the convergence was intermittent----replacing the two IC's cured the problem.

The software in your mobile has gone phut. It your mobile has a USB port the software can be changed ie reinstalled. You might have got viruses if you connect to the internet with it. If there is no USB socket, try to see if its covered by warranty. does that make sense

the problem there is a loose connection on the board,you said that you smacked the right side of the tv and it goes normal.there are parts that should be resolder on the board in order to back into normal operation.

have the LCD replaced and that will correct the problem that you are having.

Sounds like to me that the vertical circuit is whacking out....That is not uncommon with this model. Fixing requires resoldering some connections on the deflection yokes. I know that was french for you but bear with me. That repair is very complex. I do it for around $250. That does not include pickup and delivery. We do it in the home for a little less.

BTW, when I say complex let me clarify myseff. The yokes are bolted around the neck of each of the three picture tubes. The solder connections causing the problem are not accessible with out loosening the clamp and rotating them 90 degrees. Then you can get to the solder connections that are bad. Then you put the yoke back where it was. If you don't get it back exactly where it was the picture will have colored ghosts. I can readjust the beam landing of each tube but I know what I'm doing.

I have worked on projection displays for about 17 years 20years electronic. and this sounds like a vertical deflection amplifier problem. this is if the lines or the rainbow you said that you see are horizantal.

sounds like you have a vertical sweep problem. Where the fault lies cpuld be the vertical output IC the verticle b+ feed, could be the capacitors in the vertical circuit?? Your gonna need to troubleshoot thr vrtical circuit if your not a tech thin my advise is to take the set to a pro for sn est. Good Luck
