SOURCE: stiff swivel

Hi
I tried lubricating the joint lightly with a little fine silcone oil at first, that just made it worse. By now the swivel action was almost non exsistent and the pit of my stomach had that churning, sinking feeling :0(
I'm an technician and quite handy, so I thought I have nothing to lose, I'll remove the outer casing and see whats what. I took the four screws out at the center of the swivel... and then quickly screwed them back in again. Not a good idea.
I thought the only I was giong to fix this problem was from the outside in. Ok, Im not advocating you try what I did but it definateley improved/freed up the swivel joint. I used a spray can of TF-90 Fast Drying Cleaning solvent. Im in the UK, I dont know if you can get this world wide. Its labled as as replacement for 111-Trich. Its really nothing like it, its more like electrical contact/cleaning/maintanace spray, it even has that same sweet smell. (a bit like 112- Trich) I sprayed the joint with copius amounts of the solvent taking care to aim just at the joint and not overspray. Spray, twist.compressed air. spray, twist, compressed air. Eventually the joint became much freer, not quite as smooth as new but at least the swivel now works.
If you have the same problem and follow what I did (I have not read anywhere about the same issue which I think is rather odd) be careful not to leave the solvent standing for any length of time as it tends to slightly melt the tops of the plastic buttons and could wipes the decals off if your not careful! Note, I would only attempt this method if you have access to a compressed airline to be able to blow the solvent clean off the camera. If you have had this pronblem in the past, I would be greatful if you would let me know how you got on. Cheers

SOURCE: Fixint the swivel hinge

The following website should help you out - if the problem is just a loose hinge.  Maybe you've already seen this webpage, but here it is again anyway.

Your problem may be just a couplI used the directions to take off my screen and then found out my hinge was broken.
Good Luck

The swing mixer handle has become very stiff. how do i get it off to clean it/

The first solution is of course correct. However I found it almost impossible to remove the spout assembly. It was very stiff and it was difficult to get any leverage to force it off without damaging the finish to the tap as a whole or damaging the sink.

What I found was that if you poured boiling water over the tap/faucet it eased the stiffness and having done this several times - ie about 5 kettle loads of hot water, I managed to remove the spout. It helps if you reconnect the hose directly to the outlet under the sink (ie not via the faucet). THis allows you to run cold water through the tap whilst pourung boiling water over the outside of the tap. The cold water shrinks the copper/brass components whilst the hot water expands the spout assembly.
Once off, it is possible to clean the inside of the assembly to remove corrosion or calcium deposits to say nothing of old "O" rings.

I also used a kettle descaler between dousing with boiling water in the hope that some of it would seep down within the assembly.

It took me three attempts to do this. I was almost going to spend UK pounds 430 or US dollars 670 and buy a new unit. So do not give up and I hope this helps.
It swings backward and forward now perfectly.

Leaking kitchen faucet

the swivel on any tap has an "O" ring or seal at either side of the outlet into the arm
Any leaks from this area indicate a ring/seal failure

Driveshaft vibrates shaft from trans to rear wheels, put new u-joints in it but it looks like its the cv in the trans end. will not rotate or (slip yoke), is it a cv joint or is it supposed to remain...

it will rotate the slip joint that on the drive shaft into transmission only slides in and to allow ear suspension to work without breaking driveshaft. I would remove driveshaft and inspect front joint. it it does not flex sided to side and up and down, then it is bad. replace and be very careful when pressing in cup that the bearings don't fall out.

Heat Coil Needs to be replace

If you have a leak on the inside of the front tyre this is the swivel hub leaking. Go to ebay and look up "swivel hub grease". You need to replace the swivel hub oil with one shot grease.

Assemble Swivel Assembly onto Kenmore Canister vac

Got this post off this web site...I just replaced my swivel and it worked:
http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/answers/Answers.action#l4q110567
To install a new swivel assembly, you will need 2 small, flat tip screw drivers. Unplug the vacuum. Push the screw drivers in between the hose and the collar where you see the seams in the plastic collar on the end where the hose enters the collar. This will release tabs that hold the collar to the swivel. Pry and pull the collar back over the hose and then pull the small screwdrivers out of the collar. Slide the collar back along the hose. Unplug the wiring connections from the hose. Pull the hose wires up and out of the holder on the swivel assembly. Lift the tabs on the side of the hose and pull it off of the swivel. Push the new swivel onto the hose. Align the hose wires and secure them in the holder. Plug the wires from the swivel into the hose wires (blue to blue, white to white). Secure the swivel wires into the wire holder on the swivel assembly. Push the collar back up the hose and onto the swivel with the plastic seams aligned with the tabs on each side of the hose. Snap the collar securely into place.
