SOURCE: I need the schematics of the control module

The model listed is an older set----usually if it HAS the splitter it is up front----but most there is not one as it is part of the high voltage transformer----look on the label on the rear where model number is for a Chassis number, that will tell me instantly if a splitter exists or not PTK-------

RCA projection P46732BA no power and arcing sound

The High Voltage Splitter is the cause of this and replacing it should fix the problem. Their should not be a shock hazard once power is diconnected. But just incase, ground each of the anode leads from the crts to ground. That should take care of any HV charge from the CRTS. Do make a note of which wire went went where, that is important. When you get the new HV Splitter, you will need to transfer the small board that is mounted on the old Splitter. Again, be aware of where the wires hook up to it and you will be fine.
Hope this helps,

Panasonic PT-53WXD63G Flyback, H.O.T., and Triper

The small wires are disconnected at the focus and screen control block, and the large HV cable is disconnected from the HV splitter.you may have to reuse the large red wire if the new flyback doesnt have the HV lead attached. The Hot is the horizontal output transistor its mounted to a aluminum heat sink near the flyback.

Hi. Quick question.

Jerry,
I am assuming you need to get the HV lead out to remove the board. That model if I am not mistaken has the one large Red HV lead running from the flyback to the HV splitter where the other 3 large wires run to the CRts. If this is the case the trick is to remove the wire from the flyback at the splitter, I have found its easiest to slide the red rubber boot back then use a pair of pliers with tape on the jaws so as to not hurt the wire then grab the wire as close to the splitter block as possible then using a second pair of pliers like a hammer and hit the pliers holding the HV lead and thst will force the HV cable out of the Splitter block.

Rca 52" projection tv 3 flashing lights, then powers off

If you see the flyback. That has a large red wire resembling a sparkplug wire. That wire goes into the splitter. There will be 3 more red wires coming from the splitter going to the CRTs. Just take the one wire that goes from the flyback and place that in the glass jar. Now some models have the splitter built into the flyback if thats your vase scenario you will need to replace the flyback. No way to test that properly unless you have a ringer to test it with. let me know how you make out.

ProScan wont turn on

PS52690 52" projection TV (CTC188 series) that won't power up. From what I have read here and other places, the most common cause of this is the HV splitter. Actually, when the unit was 3 years old, the HV splitter went out and had to be replaced but it was under warranty at the time. I have found that the part I need is 205064 and runs around $40-$70
A post in another thread said that you could test to see if the HV splitter is really the problem by disconnecting the HV anode (big red wire) from the flyback (not the splitter since that will arc), plug the TV in, power it up, and if the power stays on and you hear sound, replace the HV splitter to fix the problem.
