#1 Make sure that you have only one input cable hooled up to the monitor. Using both DVI and VGA inputs from the same video card can cause this issue.

#2 Try both VGA and DVI inputs individually, make sure issue occurs on both.

#3 See if issue occurs connected to another system. Also boot this system to SAFE MODE see if monitor will then function at that resolution (It may be your system is set to a resolution the monitor will not display)

#4 If purchased recently, contact the seller. Most will honor a malfunctioning item. If not, contact EBay as there is normally a $200 MINIMUM buyer preotection plan,

SOURCE: synchmaster 2333 no red color

Rush to claim your warranty, the only thing you should do first is make sure that the input signal is OK: Hook up any laptop to any other monitor, then immediately (i.e. without changing what the computer is showing) hook it up to your monitor.

Another option is that you have a faulty cable. If it is part of the monitor, the warranty will cover it. If it can be detached from the monitor, borrow another cable to see whether that is the faulty piece.

Samsung external monitor turns on briefly then goes black

Most likely it is a fault with the external monitor, either an inverter circuit board or the CCFL lamp.
To confirm if the laptop video card is faulty, connect another external monotor to the laptop and if the monitor is OK then it confirms the Samsung monitor is faulty.

Samsung SynchMaster 191N Monitor stay on fine for 15-20 min after that it goes dark,, and power swtich thrun itself off, cannot turn on or off, unless I unplug power for few min and replug. Then stays...

If the OSD has display and after a min goes dark that monitor has 2 possible problem. 1. bad electrolytic capacitor from secondary power supply to inverter area or fault semiconductors around inverter area. 2. Bad CCFL or fluorescent lamp of lcd panel it may be reddish color.

I have no blue light at the power button for my Synchmaster 225BW

The power switch is a momentary tactile switch. If you want to fix it, you will have to turn it off and look at the size of the switch to try to find the replacement for it. Not much you can do but open it up to find the cause of the problem.

I have a rather new Samsung Syncmaster 2070

You neeed to connect the monitor to another PC to rule out the monitor as being damaged. If the monitor checks out good, the video card on your PC may be the problem. Does your motherboard have on-board video? If your not sure, can you give me the make and model of your PC tower?

Half of the screen is black - Samsung SynchMaster 710N

hello
I am a technician-informatic. I have repaired about 80 Lcd Samsung monitors with theese problems. I offer the repair manual.
Manual has been done with the experience of the repairing Samsung Lcd monitors. Manual was made by me and shows how to open monitor, how
to solve dark screen problem, how to check and replace capacitors, how to solve the problem non-optimal mode (without reprogramming MCU or
changing the main board) photo are included. 100% functional. The repair process is very simple 30-40min. (does not need a lot of
experience in electronics and expensive instruments) and is not expensive. With this manual you can solve problems by yourself and save
money.

"Not Optimum Mode 1280x1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on but turns off by itself, the LED blinks green.
- If you detach from the PC points to "control cable" the picture runs continuously in the vertical direction or presents while line , and
as soon as it is reconnected, the monitor goes off.
- The monitor does not turns on and dont dispaly anything, the LED blinks green-lit, if you detach from pc points to "control cable".
- The monitor turns on, works well some time, but after a window apiers "Not optimum mode. Mode recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"
- The monitor turns on, works well only with low resolution 800x600, when try to change a window that reads "Not optimum mode. Mode
recommended 1280X1024 60Hz"

the manual you can find on ebay (my ebay name is asnerejas123):

HOW DO I HOOK MY SAMSUNG SYNCHMASTER TO MY COMPUTER? I HAVE THE DVI CABLE CONNECTED TO BOTH AND IT KEEPS SAYING CHECK SIGNAL?

Hi,

Prior to attaching the SynchMaster and if there is another monitor, pls try lowering the Screen Resolution of your Display Properties. It may also be necessary to lower down the Screen Refresh Rates. In some video card, you may have to activate Twin/Extended view or enable the use of a second monitor assuming that your regular monitor is connected to the standard 15pin VGA and that the Samsung would be the 2nd monitor using the DVI.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
