your TV do not disable close caption in composite mode. It may in component mode. Please make sure that the close caption in your TV menu is not set to "text"
Please be advice that CC :Text is the ONLY one that can give you a black box.

SOURCE: turn on closed caption on samsung LA32S81B tv

If you don't have the manual, go to this website:

http://www.samsung.com/in/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=1383390&type=TV&typecode=&subtype=LCD+TV&subtypecode=&cmssubtypecode=&model=LA32S81B&filetype=UM&language=&LSSI=/in/module/ssi/left/lmenu_tv_sonomatrenz.sec&RSSI=/in/module/ssi/right/rmenu_tv.sec

and download it. I think Samsung refers to it as Teletext. Instrucitons are on page 31 of this manual.

Good luck.

To view the captions, all you have to do is turn on the decoder by following these simple steps:

  1. Access your TV menu screen using your remote or by pressing a button on the face of the TV.
  2. Select the closed captions heading. Several different caption options may appear.
  3. Select the "CC1" option.
  4. Exit the menu.
Closed captions should appear within approximately one minute of adjusting this setting. If they do not, review this portion of your television's operating manual or contact the manufacturer of the television set.

How do i get captions for netflix streaming on samsung series 7 tv?

Is your Netflix being streamed from a box, or is the app built in to your TV. Either way, you would have to go into the user menu of the Netflix app for closed captioning. Not the TV menu. Hope fully this has helped. Try this link. https://help.netflix.com/en/node/372

Can't turn closed caption off on our Samsung Series 7000 LED TV

Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.

How do I get closed captioning on a Samsung TV model TXJ2754?

Hello

Your TV displays the closed captions that are broadcast with some

television shows. These captions are usually subtitles for the hearing

impaired or language translations. All VCRs record the closed caption

signal and most pre-recorded commercial video tapes provide closed

captions. Check for the closed caption symbol in your television

schedule and on the tape's packaging: .

1 Press MENU repeatedly until you see the Setup menu. Press CH
to select "Caption."

2 Press VOL+ to open the Closed Caption menu.

3 Press VOL + to turn closed captioning on.

Misspellings and odd characters can occur in captioning. Also, there may be a

captioning delay after changing channels. Neither situation is a TV malfunction.

4 Press CH to highlight "Mode." Press - VOL or VOL + to choose

"Capt." (captions) or "Text." In caption mode, captions appear and

cover a small portion of the picture. In text mode, information unrelated

to the program, such as news reports, are displayed and
often cover a large portion of the screen.

5 If you wish, use CH , CH , or VOL + to change the captioning

channel or field. Then, press DISPLAY to return to normal viewing.

Different channels and fields display different information, such as additional
languages or supplemental information

Closed Caption

closed caption depends on your tv stations. If a tv station does not support providng closed captions, then it will not really show closed captions. Closed captions depends really on the feature of a tv station
