I have a Panasonic Viera less than 6 months old. One single line has appeared on the screen in the last few days from the top of the screen to the bottom. The line appears less visable on dark colour in the television picture and more so on light colours.

I have had a 42inch panasonic viera plasma for 2.5 years. One black vertical strip near the middle of the screen appeared a couple of days ago and now I have two black vertical stripes. I have the exact same problem. A vertical green line in the right side of the screen going down about 1/3 of the screen height. I tried changing HDMI cables, both HDMI inputs, and removed all elrctrical devices within 20 feet. What gives? Anyone with an answer? This set is only 2 years old and very seldom used (turned on). at first the red dots and lines appeared after the tv has been on for a while, but over time they are consistently there. The guy who gave this tv to me said he thinks its a heating problem. Either LCD transistor got moist or the video chipset got condensation. Keep TV on standby to dry it out. Unless there is also mechanical damage to the lcd screen on the edge..
It is either the plasma panel itself or a connection problem, either way it will need to get serviced. Suggest you find receipt and phone Panasonic. Cheers.
EASY! ok the 4th video processing unit is malfunctioning, if it is a Piano affect like the keys on the piano, then that can be fixed under your 1year warrenty after your 1year warrenty it will cost $200, but i could be wrong, i never studied panasonic plasma casue they ****, next time get a samsung.
