Have had this HDD/DVD recorder for about 8 mnths have only ever played photo, music and DIVX discs. have been trying to play bought DVD's and keeps saying 'unknown disc' and ejects disc. out of all discs will play 2 bought ones - cannot see what difference there is in these 2 from rest. once played 'Roadhouse'; but cannot remember how I got it working, will not play now gives error message. Very upsetting and frustrating to kids as unable to watch dvd's received as birthday pressies. Can you help?
The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player,using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .

same problem - has played bought DVD's in the past but now only plays one all others result in disk not being recognised and being ejected. Still plays DVD's with other non bought content.
tried factory reset - still same problem
disconnected from electricity for period of time - no change
says unknown disc no disk

I had the same problem when it was still in warranty LG change the drive, but now again after 1 year doesn't waork anymore and without warranty. NICE.

I bought this DVD recorder with a 5 year insurance warranty. The error has been "repaired" three times so far, once replacing the mother board and the laser lens, and twice replacing the laser lens. The problem has happened again. The laser lens lasts for a few months only of light usage.
