Brother IntelliFAX 4750 Plain Paper Laser Fax Logo

Broken paper guide and difficult fax input.

Bought a used 4750e. The right sided paper guide of the fax input is broken and the fax document tends to slide off center when it is being drawn into the machine. Can this guide be replaced or repaired?

Also, it seems that you really have to slide the fax document far down into the input slot before the machine will catch it, and when it does, it will occasionally pick up several pages at once which causes the final fax transmission to be missing several pages. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ken

Lets start with the paper feed problem. You need a new paper feed roller to pull the paper in when it should. You need a new seperation pad to prevent multiple pages from being fed at the same time. you will have to look at your machine to determine which parts are needed. here is a link to a company that I do business with. You can find the trays here also.

I keep getting a black line about 2 inches along the right side of the paper if copying as well any faxes sent are also getting that blac line. Brother fax machine intel 4750e

Well you said the Lines are present when you are copying and when you are sending from the fax unit. Copying and sending functions both uses the scanning unit. What you lift open the document feeder for original documents. In there you should see rollers and a glass. clean this glass with cotton swab and alcohol for left to right the entire glass. Close the unit and try copying or sending, documents should now be clean.

We have a Brother intellifax 4750e. When we send a fax, there is a black streak down the right hand side of the paper. When we receive a fax, the streak is not there. The streak is about 1" wide. ...

Try cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol using a good quality paper towels, I find there is a buildup on the rollers causing streaking on the paper. If that fails the print head must be suspect.

HP Color LaserJet 8550DN input device failure, check cables and cycle power | error code: 66.01.02

This error message indicates a lifter malfunction has occurred. When the 2000-sheet input tray (Tray 4) is closed, the paper deck lifts the paper stack until it is just below the feed rollers. Photosensor flag PS34, the paper surface photosensor, determines when the paper stack is lifted into the feed position. When PS34 does not detect paper in the expected time, the printer reports a 66 error. SOLUTION: Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
  1. Turn the printer off, open and close the tray, then turn the printer back on to see if the error clears.
  2. Open the drawer and check for extra paper or items stored on the left side of the tray. This will prevent the tray from lifting due to excess weight or blocking the lift of the tray.
  3. Remove all the paper from the tray. Remove the tray guides and reseat them. Verify the guides are not bent or broken.
  4. Lift the paper deck manually to verify there are no obstructions in the path.
  5. Pull the tray out as far as possible and observe the white bushing on the back right side of the tray. If the white bushing is broken, the tray will not lift properly.
