Bought the 3 pack and one of the radios does not work. You can talk through it and others can hear you, but you can't hear others through the radio. How do I fix this?
Take the radios back to a very basic setting with all special features turned off. If the radios have a Qt filter check to see it is turned off, and set your Code to zero (off) on both units. Also, check to see your battery is good in both units. Trade the battery with a known good radio to see if the problem moves to the other radio, is a simple test.

Most of the time when one radio cannot talk to the other radio it means that the Privacy Codes are not configured properly. In order for the two radios to talk to one another they both have to be set to the same channel and Privacy Code or the Privacy Code function needs to be turned off on both radios.
The Privacy Codes can be used to keep the radios silent unless they receive a signal from another radio using the same code. This enables the radios to be used on busy channels with a minimum of interference. If Privacy Codes are turned off on one radio and turned on for the other radio, the situation you describe will occur.
Consult the user's manual for information on the Privacy Code function and either disable the function on both radios or set both radios to the same code.

Check to see you have the radios set to the same frequency and interference eliminator code as one another. This would be the most likely cause.

What is happening is your T6500 is set to ignore radios which do not match the same code. The fact your Cobras can hear the T6500 indicates they are set with their interference eliminator turned off (aka no code).
A similar occurance will happen if the Qt filter is set to anything but zero. The Qt filter is unique to Motorola. These features are beneficial when you are in a high radio traffic area and you want to block out hearing other people. But in your situation, you are mixing radios, and the easiest way to make them match is to turn off the special features (aka set them to zero).

Check your frequency, code and Qt filter (if any) settings. For basic operations set the code and Qt filters to zero (off). Turn off any special features, and try the radios in just a basic mode.
