My tomtom does not turn on

I have classic tomtom i think it is tomtom go 300 it feel from the dash borad inside the car and does not turn on ,if i connect the charger to it the green line comes on but it does not turn on

    tomtom 510 does not turn on although the green power button is on. I can swing the cradle and sometimes it turns on and shows a very low battery.

    We've tried charging the battery until fully charged, but reset button doesn't work. Where can we send it for repair.

Contact TomTom. They were helpful to me.
Suggest u monitor battery and get it charged up. Then reset. See if you can reproduce the problem.
They sent me an email with instructions on how to format the disk or card, then reinstall the software. Then they authorized me a new map download (don't format the disk until they assure you that you can have a new map). Perhaps it's also best to  use TomTom Home software on your computer to backup the files on the TomTom incase something goes wrong.

Problem with cigarette lighter socket in the car, check fuse under dash/glovebox/bonnet. You'll have to find it, different on cars.
Replace fuse with a 3 amp and try again.

I would like to know if you can supply a bracket to fit in car rather than the screen suction holder
hi, in some states it is not allowd to put something on the windshield, so tomtom has a kit or bracket to mount it in the car. i think you can find such things on tomtom.com. good luck

Hello,

Can you please rephrase that in the form of a question. When you connect your tom tom to a PC it will show a "do not disconnect unit" screen on the gps unit.

That is how it was designed. You can then update it ect. After it says it's ok to disconnect then you may turn it back on and see the display.

Tomtom go 300 static screen showing 2 hands in red. Green power light on but will not turn on or off! Husband admits it slipped out of his hands while putting on cradle...
try the "secret" reset button

Battery tomtom 700
Hello,
I took out the battery in my tomtom go 700 by following the information in the links below. These links are for changing the battery in a tomtom 300, but it's all I could find and as it turned out the 700 was almost identical to the 300. Also, there were some good photos that helped. The first link is the instructions and the 2nd link has the photos. Good luck!

before you start take out sd card. 1 turn tomtom upside down. 2 see reset button? 3 use paper clip to press (press for 15secs) 4 now turn on tomtom (hold power button for approx 5secs. 5 re insert sd card. after a few minutes you should have signal. hope this solves your problem.
