There are several steps involved in unpacking your particular color printer.

I'm sure you have the quick start guide which provides very nice photographs of how to remove the packing tape and materials within the printer, but just in case:

http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/manuals/printers/c410dn/manuals/Quick_Installation_Guide.pdf

I hope this helps.

In the odd case that everything is clear and you still get paper jams, take it back and have it replaced before your 30-day or whatever exchange warranty runs out.

Good luck. Keep us informed.

Ricoh SP C410 DN jam from bypass

If you can take off the bypass unit, two screws and a harness, you may be able to check the shaft, bushings and rollers. Sometimes removing jammed paper cause parts to get out of normal position. The grinding noise for example, gears not meshing together correctly. If it worked before the jam, then that is where I would look.

I have a SPC410DN Ricoh, it is having a problem feeding 110lb. paper in the upper bypass tray.it worked for years and now its giving me a fit!

is it not pulling or double feeding? most likely it is the rollers in the bypass. most mnfs it is the sep roller (bottom of 3) that gets worn causing multiple feeding. if it won't pull it is the FR (furthest back of the upper two rollers)

Ricoh SP C410dn Paper only prints 11cm and stops in the Bypass T

do not use ohp film in this device as it will jam due to the use of optical paper sensors unless your ohp has a paper backing. you can set up the bypass tray for thick paper type to increase fuser temp to get better fusing etc

Ricoh Aficio C410 bypass tray not picking up and reporting jam

This is happening to me also. The rollers sound like they're turning, but the paper doesn't advance. I then go into th emachine and spin the roller cam a bit and it seems to clear the problem. Any idea what's happening?

There is a small clear plastic sheet that is suppose to be in front of the black friction pad in the paper tray. if that sheet is under the pad instead of in front of it you will get this error.

Ricoh/Aficio SP C410DN Tray priority switches on its own

It is pulling paper from the tray specified within the application you are printing from or the driver. For example, from Microsoft word, you would have to go into page setup and select the tray you would like it to pull from. You will also want to check which tray it is pulling from in the driver, however the application generally overrides the driver settings. Both of which override anything you program at the machine.

Lower tray won't work

check your printer properties box to make sure the paper source tray box is set to auto select, also in order to "program" auto select in the printer menu you need to select the enter key and then the "aito select" should then have an asterik next to it, meaning that the "auto select" is now the default.

Paper tray default issues

you need to go into the print menu on the printer and change the paper tray size back to letter, when you have it right there will be an asterik next to letter confirming that it was programmed
