Have you opted to switch display to the printer using the function key with either F4 or F5, you will see the laptop symbol with a square next to it.

I think option 2 showing two screens with no 1 in them works best with Toshiba.

If you try this and fail, you can look at the From your desktop, Proerties, Settings, Display - Option Plug and Play!

Let me know how you get on with the above.

My used DEL 2300 MP doesn't seem to be compatible with my Compaq PResario CQ60. It keeps searching for a signal? Any suggestions?

Decrease the screen resolution of your computer to the minimum possible value and check.
Probably the projector does not support the resolution of the laptop. With a lower resolution it might work.

Connecting projector to laptop works at first windows xp comes up but soon as go to welcomne screen projector says no signal??

Your laptop should have a FN key and an 'F' key (The image on the key looks like two monitors side by side or it will say LCD/CRT) which you need press simultaneously to allow the laptop to send the signal out through the VGA port. Usually I have to repeat the process three times to allow the image to be presented on both the laptop screen and the projector. If this still doesn't work, go into desktop properties, advanced and unclick the square saying 'extend to..............' (sorry I can't remember the rest of the extend bit as I am in front of my PC not laptop and the settings are different. You should find it though.

Good luck

The screen resolution on your laptop may be set too high for the data projector. Try reducing the laptop's screen resolution down to 1024 X 768.

I don't know the model of system you are using. But before your system can detect the projector, you need to press some key conbinations.

for HP Laptops the key is Fn+F5 key
For Lenovo/IBM the key is Fn+F7 key.

Dell precision laptop, dell projector m2400 wont detect

Hello...the resolution on the laptop is too high...at least, from your description, that's what the problem sounds like. The projector is capable of 1024x768. Make sure the res on the laptop is set at or below that number. To set the res on the laptop, go into control panel and choose the display option...under settings menu, there will be a slider that you can move--when you move this, the computer will ask you if you want to keep this setting--choose yes. Also, make sure you power up the laptop first, then immediately after, power on the projector--this will help stop any syncing problems that might occur.--Hope I helped you!--Rick

Hitachi CP-X445W Multi. Projector

I have the same problem with a Hitachi CP-X345 Multimedia Projector. My Acer Aspire 3630 Laptop cannot be detected but it works without incident with a Dell Vostro 1500; just plug and play. Desktop settings to second screen doesn’t seem to help.
