Tv turn off by it sejf temp light comes on - Samsung HL-R6167W 61" HDTV

Hello,

How long Ago did you replace your lamp? If this is not a lamp issue, it can most likely be a fan or thermostat malfunction (easy to replace, but hard to diagnose) If your lamp is new I would check around for any fans not spinning correctly. If they all seem to be working I would proceed to replace the heat sensor/thermostat.

The lamp will not turn on--replaced and still light--has a flashing red temp light on in front but can not be hot as lamp never comes on. Iss there a way to reset the temp light. thanks Bill

hi if your tv starts for a few seconds and restart again and go
back to stand by chances are that the problem
is what is call the color wheel

When we turn on the TV, the little green "lamp" sign comes on; after a bit the "Timer" light comes on; then later the "Stand By/ Temp" light comes on. Finally they all turn off and the TV never comes on. ...

The lamp u change?U use the tv at lest 4 or 5 hours a day?The lamp 1 1/2 or 2 years last was change?The lamp life span is over replaced other lamp.

Samsung hln617w dlp tv won't turn on. Red temp

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.

Tv wont come on

You may have a Lamp fan that is not turning. You can verify this shining a flashlight in the Fan Exhaust housing and see if it turns when you turn the set on.

look in the back, see if the lamp is actually lit. If it is probably not a tv problem. If you can pull up the menu then you probably are on the wrong input. Are the fans running when you turn it on? IF fans are running might be lamp, if nothing is seen through the back.
