Hi. The camera could be faulty but it could also be because the camera settings have been changed so anything you take in good light is is 'over exposed'.

Try restoring all the options in the cameras menus to the original settings by using the review menu options of the camera e.g. on Samsung cameras this can be done as follows:-

[Setup2 Menu> 'Initialisation']

Then try taking some pictures with controls on 'Auto' at first.

Your camera might be using the internal memory in saving those pictures.

You can press the Review button and press the left and right arrow to view the previous, next picture or video. You need to press the Delete button in each of them that you wan to delete. You might want to transfer your pictures and videos on the computer first before deleting them.

Then to set the memory card for the camera to save those images instead of the internal memory, just press Menu, then press either up or down button until you see Image Storage. Choose Auto; this option chooses the memory card if it is inserted on the camera.

How to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.

2. Cam settings
3. Chose AUTO or SD card option and Press OK

Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Follow these steps:

On the camera, press Review and then Menu.

Select Image Storage.

Change to Internal Memory.

In the menu listing, scroll down to Copy, and select OK.

Select a single picture, or select All.

When you have finished copying pictures, reset the Image Storage location to your original setting.

Try resetting the camera. Go into the setup menu and find "reset".

The XTi and prior EOS models have not capability to see the live image to be shoot on the screen. Only the image after taken can see on the screen. Other images also using the view mode.

If you can't review the images, eve if the display is turned off, just after they are taken, maybe the "Review time" is set to "off". Go to settings, 3th tab, Review time and set the desired setting.

Make sure the auto review setting is on. Go to menu, and scroll down the list, you should find it there.

Go into review, and then menu. Go to image storage and then set "auto" or memory card. You may have it set to store your images in the internal memory.

Being very careful, follow this pictorial disassembly (it's in Estonian, but just follow the pictures). Don't go any further than popping the top off the camera! Look for anything obviously broken off near the vicinity of the shutter button, or looking very different than what's in the pictorial.
