My son changed something on my Dell Vostro 200 to avoid the user name Password screen as he didn't know my password boots up ok after pressing F1 but my son's gone away now so don't know what he changed and how to fix the problem
He has accessed the bios and change the boot setting devices by enabling the floppy drive which you do not have.
Go Bios (F1 or F2) on first screen. and select load default setting
Also go to Boot Options and make sure 1st boot is the HDD not FDD or removable disk
Also in any menu mention of Floppy Disk make sure it is set to not installed or disabled.
keep me posted
Shut down your comp and then turn it back on, and as soon as u see the blue dell logo that time u have to keep tapping the F2 key in the top row of your keyboard till you get the screen with the white letters, highlight the option which says standard cmos features and hit enter and un that menu highlight the option that says drive A and make it to disable or none and then press F10 inthe top row of your key board and then save and exit the issue will ber esolved
When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in if you cant log in
during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there
or
control panel user accounts
on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there
hope this helps
