Frigidaire dehumidifier has a F2 error and will not operate

Hello - Typically error code F2 indicates a sensor failed has occurred on the dehumidifier. You may want to contact your manufacturer to verify if the part is available and can be replace. Some do, some don't. Also confirm if the unit has a limited warranty on such concern.

It is loud vibrating when comp. runs if I tip the unit up 3or4 inches it stops vibating is this ok too run this way?

No, not really. As the unit has to be in a level position to operate properly and not overflow.
If the unit is sitting on carpet, this will often times cause the vibration noise. I don't know why, but it does and it does with my 4 year old LG unit. I have noticed, that once the tank reaches the 1/2 full point, it will vibrate sometimes. I solved the problem by firmly smacking the left & right sides of cabinet at the same time, with my open hands. The vibration stops immediately and continues to run until it shuts off because, the humidity extraction level has been reached or the tank is Full & needs to be emptied.

It's a simple solution, but it works. I hope it works for you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Got a second-hand Dayton dehumidifier 5BB55 - does it need a filter?

All dehumidifiers need and have a filter, usually already installed in them. Yours may be located behind the front louvers of the unit. Remove the bucket and look just inside the bucket holder at the top, below the louvers. You should see a tab type handle. Pull that down and out. If it's dirty it can be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, wash it with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filer in place. Doing so, can cause damage to the unit.

If you don't have one contact Grainger Industrial Supply 1-800-323-0620. As Dayton is a house brand of Grainger. You may want to see if an Owner's Manual is still available for your model. It will be invaluable to you in the future.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have the a Kenmore dehumidifier sometimes it runs fine and other times just the fan runs not the compressor or just the opposite the compressor runs not the fan it is only 2 1/2 years old. What should...

Kathy, I'm not sure you have a problem with the dehumidifier. Depending on which mode you're operating it in, the fan will run in an effort to recirculate the air. If the humidity level rises above the level you have the unit set on, the compressor will then turn ON. This is particularly true, if the unit is operating in continual mode. Then there are other times the fan isn't active, but the compressor turns on when the humidity sensor feels a rise in humidity. So, for the most part, I don't think it's a problem.

Just be sure that you clean the air intake filter at least once every two weeks, during times of daily operation.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Whirlpool Gold Dehumidifier -The lights are all working, no fan? Is there a reset ?

You have what Whirlpool calls a Type 3 Control Panel. If you don't have the unit operating in Continuous Mode, the fan will operate only, when the compressor turns on to extract the humidity, based on the level of extraction you have it set on. If you haven't already,.set the control on Maximum and Continuous Mode.

If that doesn't solve the problem, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes. After the time has elapsed plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Hopefully, the 15 minute timeout, allowed the unit to reset itself and revert back to the original factory settings. If so, you can set the controls as you like.

To further assist you, I have an included a link to your Owner's Manual, in case you have misplaced your. You can download and print it for future reference.

I just bought a LG Model LD650AL two days ago from Home Depot. My question is when I hooked it up and started it, it ran for awhile (15mins) then it stopped. Seems to me that it a quite warm behind the...

If you just plugged it in and started it up, you may have failed to set the humidity extraction level. Which is different from the factory settings. If you want to remove great deal of humidity, lower the setting to 35%. Keep in mind, the lower the setting the more humidity/moisture will be removed from the household air. The higher the setting less will be removed.

As far as the unit beiing warm is concerned ... Be sure to maintain at least a minimum of 12" clear air space all around the unit while in operation. Do not operate the dehumidifier in direct sun light.

Also, make sure all the packing material has been removed from the interior of the unit. This will block the airflow and cause the unit to overheat. If it does overheat, it should shutoff automatically. But, don't confuse that with normal automatic shutoff (i.e water collection bucket full, timed cycle has ended, no more humidity to remove from the air, etc.)

When all else fails, consult the owner's Manual.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Have classic dehumidifier model#CDR4500E. Can't adjust it automaticaly to come on or shut off. Don't understand the keypad fuctions, booklet to confusing.

Your dehumidifier preset default humidity level of 70%. Which is rather high, if you're using the unit in the hot Summer months. You can override this setting and lower the humidity level in increments to as low as 35%. Which is ideal during hot, humid weather. The Air Down button lowers the humidity level.Once the level is set, the unit will cycle ON and OFF as necessary, to maintain the level of humidity.

I have looked at the Owners Manual for you unit, and it's very thorough. But, I can understand, if you're not familiar with how the units work, it could be confusing. Page 5, is very informative on how to operate the unit, as far as setting humidity levels, which is what's important. If the operation of the unit continues to be a problem for you, contact Danby Customer Support 1-800-263-2629 and they can walk you through the procedures, while on the phone with them.

Hop this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

When the mode button is pushed, I only receive the option of dehumidifying, or just fan. The manual claims it has a heat option but it is not available. A friend of mine has the same one and they have the...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Their has to be a model difference issue . I have checked the Manuel and have put a copy of the section, for modes. and their is no heat only mode.

Your unit uses heat anyway, so i really do not know how, heat only would help you. I would say to look at the sticker on your friends model, and see if the numbers are exact.

Default Setting:

When the unit is first connected to a power supply, the electronic circuit board will automatically default to the following factory settings;
Mode: Dehumidifier Humidity Set Air Value:60% RH Fan Speed: = Low

NOTE: In the event of a power failure or the unit is switched 'Off', the most recent settings are retained and restored once the power is switched "On"/resumed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on the ambient humidity conditions, when power is restored or switched 'On' the dehumidifier may not start automatically under the factory or custom (see page 7) default setting. This is an indica- tion that the ambient RH% level of the surrounding envi- ronment is lower than the current default setting and it may be necessary to select a lower set RH% value.
DRY MODE SELECTION: 1. The unit does not have to be switched on (opera- tional) to select/set a program. All programs can be selected with the unit in the "off" position.
2. Press the MODE button until the Dry symbol is shown in the mode area of the display. Note: Each time the MODE button is pressed, the setting will alternate between DRY (dehumidifier) and FAN (only) mode.

3. Press the or cursor buttons to select the desired RH% operating value. To select CONTINUOUS operation, pressthe buttonuntilthesymbol"--" appears in the SET AIR display. During CONTINUOUS mode operation, the humidistat (control) will be by-passed and the compressor will operate non-stop regardless of humidity conditions.
FAN SPEED SELECTION:

4. Press the fan symbol on the keypad. Each time the button is pressed, the mode selection will alternate between "High Fan" and "Low Fan" speed options. The fan speed you select will appear in the LED display; either a 4 blade fan symbol for 'high fan' or a 3 blade fan symbol for 'low fan' will be shown in the display area.

5. When all settings are complete, press the I/O button to start the selected operation (MODE) and the blue opera- tion light will illuminate.

FAN ONLY MODE SELECTION:
1. Press the MODE button until the fan blade symbol is shown in the mode area of the display. 2. Press the "Fan" symbol on the keypad. Each time the button is pressed, the mode selection will alternate between "High Fan" and "Low Fan" speed options.
3. When all settings are complete, press the on/off button to start fan mode operation and the blue operation light will illuminate.
