Have you check to see if you have the correct driver for the sound card. I know for fact that when reload some mother board that have a build in sound card that carries AC97 drivers it will install or download the AC97 driver with no problem, and no error and it will not work because the driver needs to be upgrade. You might need to get a new sound card. simple and done. Or go through the trouble to find the correct AC97 driver.
good luck

Hi Arun!
Try to plug your speakers to an iPod or any MP3 Player to check if there's sound. If there is sound, then try plugging it to the green port at the back of your speakers.
If it doesn't have sounds then you need to buy a new speaker system.

SOURCE: how to open the creative
By removing the four screws you only release the back panel of the Electronics Board and Sockets on the Woofer unit. It takes quite a bit of manipulating to get it out as Creative have "Creatively" put very short speakers leads in the unit which does not allow easy removal. You can unsolder the woofer leads to remove the whole assembly, however make sure that you put the red and black leads back in the right holes on the pcb when re-assembling. As for the satellite speakers, unless you have a good reason to open them.....my advice is don't. Sometimes the attitude of the makers of these things is that if it fails the user will most likely discard it. If it doesn't come apart easily you have no option but to apply some reasonable force. Why do this....just for the heck of it?
When it is working normally this really is an excellent performer as a computer multimedia 2.1 channel system.
