Replaced lamp; still have no video yet have audio

I have a Panasonic HDTV DLP (PT-50DL54) and just replaced the lamp when the tv monitor went black but still had sound. I knew I needed to replace the lamp a while ago but since the current lamp was still working, I thought I'd replace it when I had to which I thought would be now. I didn't notice any blinking lamp light. After replacing the lamp, the tv still showed a black screen although still had audio. I tried that lamp reset thing & the lamp light blinked about 3 times but still no video. Could it be more than just replacing the lamp?

Yes, I did. It was almost a year since I knew I'd have to replace the lamp soon so I ordered another one to have ready when I needed to. While watching a show 2 nights ago, it suddenly went black. I assumed it had to be the lamp.

Try the following:
If you need to get into the service menu, you can do so by following these directions:
With power on, hold down VOL minus button on projection display and hold down the PIP or SPLIT button (try both) on the remote simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
You can also click here to get more instructions if the above do not work. See post # 4.

Do you hear the fan blowing? If not, you have another problem.
Also, check all the cables.

PT-50DL54 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television: started to get dimer and dimer and finally picture...

You should have received a message on the screen about replacing the lamp. Also, the LAMP led on the front should be lit in red.
You can replace the lamp assembly easily for about $150 - $250.
Don't try to replace the bulb only.
A new Panasonic Plasma TV will cost about $1000 and good for another 5 to 6 years.

The power will not turn on and the power LED is flashing red.

PT-50LD54 is an LCD rear projection TV with a consumable bulb that wears out normally after 2-5 years of use.

Most likely you need a bulb. That is first step in any troubleshooting for that tv. Check out Panasonic Gallery to identify lamp and replacement bulb.

Changing bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and replacing the bulb in the lamp assembly. Like doing a puzzle. Requires philips screwdriver, pliers and patience. Don't have jam on your fingers when you do it.

Picture goes away on my DLP TV

that is an overheating problem. With the TV unpluged clean and or vacuum the internal tubes. Not the lamp though. Do not touch the lamp as any oils on your hands will cause a hot spot and the expensive lamp will fail.

Location of the lamp enclosure

Pull off the front silver panel ... it is about 3' long and about 4" wide. It pulls off easily. below this panel on your left side you will see a small black panel held in when one Phillips screw. Remove this screw and the panel will slide to your left. This exposes the lamp unit which in turn is fastened with one brass coloured screw. Loosen this screw (screw stays attached to the lamp housing) and then simply pull the lamp unit forward to remove. Word of caution ... do not remove if the lamp is hot ... wait until it cools down. This procedure sound difficult but is really quite simple. I have replaced my lamp on twice already.

Replace lamp led light

Have you reset the lamp timer?
Was the lamp module sitted properly?
Remove the back panel and vacuum all the dust.
Also use compressed air to blow out the dust from the inside.
Do not blow into the fan on the right as that will get the dust inside the lamp housing.
