2007 yukon xl lift gate unable to open

I cannot open the lift gate by any method (key FOB, interior switch, or, manually). The interior button is in the correct position. It closed 3 days ago and now with not open or close. Nothing appears to be caught in the space. The "rear access gate is open" message flashes intermittently. We have tried to shut the door tightly, and, then reopen but nothing seems to work.

I typed a longer answer to this question but it never posted. I recently 11/24/2015 I had the same issue. After some major excess work I realized that it may need to be reset
If the DIC tells you the rear access door is open and nothing is activating the actuator then I would "disconnect the main battery". This resets everything after you reconnect it and the "rear access door open" should not come up after restarting the vehicle. Now the fob, overhead button, and rear door sensor should activate the actuator.
Hope this helps Antony that has the same problem.

SOURCE: Driver's side door not latching / closing

pull the outside handle and unlatch the latching assembly by hand by insertins a screwdriver where the striker would normally be if the door were closed - and pry out.

You can adjust the striker by loosening the bolts, and moving it in toward the cabin.

If the door itself is droopy, adjustments are made by the hinge by loosening the bolts and lifting up or down.

Multiple attempts will be necessary to get it just right.

Dont get frustrated if it doesnt fit properly in the 1st or second attempt.
Good Luck!!

SOURCE: 2004 chevy siverado interior lights not working

If your problem is in all doors I'm probably wrong :)

But..you may find that an inner door jamb spring loaded switch has failed. It works exactly like the one in your fridge does, It triggers power to the light when the spring is out ,.. sometimes it gets stuck in you might just be able to clean and loosen it up.

SOURCE: rear glass will not open. push button and makes

2000 Chevy Blazer 4 door with pop up glass and drop down gate. I experienced this exact problem 4 years ago. The glass unlock actuator inside the drop down hatch has a small plastic piece connect to it. This piece pushes the glass unlock mechanism. In order to temporarily unlock, you must pull the carpeting piece down and located in the center is an access hole where your can depress the unlock mechanism from inside, until you find a replacement piece. I recommend the pick and pull lots where you can find a similar make and model blazer with the drop down gate. I was able to get the piece and actuator (just in case) for $5. You will have to disassemble the gate in order to replace the plastic piece which is easily removed from the actuator, but cannot be fixed with glue, even with crazy glue. Have a excellent day and pass it on!

SOURCE: I have a 2007 Suburban,

{: ) Your liftgate struts (shocks) could have gone weak. If it's a power liftgate, press the off button to disable the power liftgate function, so that you can open the liftgate manually. With a little help from you, extend the liftgate at full open position and check if it will hold itself up there as it normally should. If it starts to fall off as you catch it, that means the liftgate struts don't have enough pressure anymore to push and sustain the weight of the liftgate. Check for signs of leak on the struts, or better if you can replace it both.

If the passkey is messed up, there will be a light on the dash that says security, or have a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If there is no light when the key is turned forward, then its NOT a passkey problem.

Rear lift gate on 2011 Yukon only works with key fob. Friend mistakenly pushed down manually instead of pushing close button on rear lift gate . How can we fix it?

When the gate was used manually the inside button was deactivated. Look in owners manual or contact dealer to see how to activate switch.

2009 yukon denali chime door start to lock and unlock every time i hit a bump, lift gate open light come on

Might need to adjust rear door latch, or could be bad relay or switch. Try pulling/pushing on rear door while closed to see if you can set this off while sitting still.

2007 Yukon Denali XL lift glass is opening when I use the fob to open the rear hatch. This causes me to be unable to then close the rear hatch via the fob

This sounds like you have a grounding problem with your hatch circuits. This type of malfunction usually occurs when two systems (the hatch lift and the Lift glass release) are supposed to be sharing the same ground, but one of the systems has a bad connector or a broken wire. It then "activates" the other system by grounding THROUGH the system that it is supposed to be sharing ground with.

What I would do in your case is to take a HARD look at the wires that are in the conduit that runs between the lift gate and the body. These wires flex every time the lift gate is opened and closed, and are prone to breakage.

The way you describe it, it sounds like the lift gate motor is losing contact at about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up, and that is when it grabs ground through the glass release solenoid.

Yukon xl rear door won't unlock and there is no manual lock.

I fixed mine by using fine steel wool to clean the brass contacts located at the right upper door frame on the right door as viewed from the rear of the vechicle.
