Ice makers in general takes time to produce an adequate amount of ice. however one of the things i would check for is to make sure that your water flow is not restricted. as long as you have adequate water pressure coming into your ice maker then you should have a full basket of ice in a few days.

And a good thing to check too is the temperature of the freezer. the colder it is the quicker it will make ice. the internal thermostat of the ice maker is 0 degrees on most whirlpool ice makers. So if it's colder in the freezer the quicker it will get that thermostat to 0. Thus making the ice faster so you'll have more. Best way to check the temperature in the freezer is with the door closed. But most people dont have a temperature probe on a wire with a external meter to read the temperature. Like all refrigerator technicians carry or like i carry.

i think the internal thermostat is the same on almost all ice makers. It is either 0 degree or close to it. I thought your question was for a whirlpool and saw it was a LG after I posted my comment.

The refrigerator compressor unit never stops, How can I fix this?

There a number of reasons that ice forms on the evaporator coil. One is no air flow or not enough air flow over the coil. Another reason could be the unit is not going into defrost. There will be some ice on evap coil most of the time, but the defrost cycle should remove the ice. If there is not enough air flow across the coil to take away the cold, the coil will build up ice. I would check the defrost cycle and make sure there is not an obstruction in the circulating fan system. On the older refrigerators you could turn the defrost timer to defrost, but the newer models have circuit boards, and I am not sure how to force the defrost.

I love my refridgerator except for the fact it doesn't make enough ice.I was wondering if there is a setting to adjust the amount of ice it makes..I had a service man to come out and there is nothing wrong...

mrs. justice u should have a setting knob that says freezer colder and by adjusting that knob a little making the frezzer colder so the ice frezzes faster. the faster it frezzes the faster it will dump making more ice. but if that dont work then that box should be equiped to have the more up to date one that has a fan in the ice maker that makes it colder and makes ice faster.. remeber the colder the faster the ice should make. ok try that. later gator.

My Whirlpool refrigerator model ED22GW makes the ice but won't dispense, any ideas why?

if it has never dispensed ice,the mfg places a stopper in the dispeser during production. remove it. if the ice just jams up and wont come out, use non-stick cooking spray around the opening of the dispenser. they can jam up if you dont use them often enough and little droplets of water freeze up. either one of these should help, if not I have no idea whats going on and you should call the person who sold it to you.
