Stuck in standby mode on Fisher RS-911A receiver

My Studio-Standard Fisher model RS-911A stereo receiver is stuck on standby mode regardless of power cycling or any attempts to play audio.

Does it power up or straight to standby? If it is on but in standby it could be speaker protection issues...check speaker wires and/or speakers for issues. If it's straight to standby and no power, it's repair shop time.

if its a new purchase with a warranty, then take it to them first to prevent any loss of coverage, and if not open it up and check for a round cylinder glass fuse, or white ceramic fuse, possibly might have blown it.

i do not see any reason why not. take it to a shop that you know they work on stereo recievers..or call around for the best place..

I have a Fisher stereo receiver model RS-9115 that is stuck on stand by i just pulled it out of storage after about 3 years

1. Hit the Stand-by or mute button.
2. Replace the batteries in remote, use remote to power down & up.
3. connect speakers
4. select FM, connect FM antenna, hit mute or stand-by button
5. Turn up volume, is there a buzz, hum or noise?

What can I do with a amp tuner fisher rs-851 in standby?

If by "standby" you mean the amp is trying to power up, check for speaker protection issues. Speaker wires and/or speaker issues may be causing the speaker protection mode to keep your Fisher speaker lines disconnected from amp.

I have a similar problem... I can power up my rs-911, then about 3-5 sec. later, it shutsdown (standby light still on)... What in the tarnation is going on? All 3 fuses are OK.?.

I see this is a pretty ancient posting so you've probably fixed it or given up by now.
