I have a GE remote monitor XS stereo tv, model# 25gt522. Today I accidentally hit the channel button on the tv, it turned my directv off and I cannot get it back on. Also, I have no remote for the tv. What do I do?

Hello! I just got my Directv remote to work with my GE tv. I started by trying code 11922, and when that didn't work, I followed the Directv instructions to find a set-up code manually. After I followed the instructions below and doing it about 6-8 times, it started working! (So I guess the code 11928 - 11930 might work?) Good luck! I'm still having problems getting the "video" setting to work to switch inputs, but I'll keep trying...

• Set the "Mode Switch" to the desired mode such as TV for a Television.
• Press and hold the "Mute" button and the "Select" button until the visible LED blinks twice.
• Enter the code "991" followed by the "device number"
  1. for Televisions
  2. for "AUX 1" devices - VCRs or DVDs
  3. for "AUX 2" devices - Audio
• You can step through the setup codes for this mode by pressing the "Channel Up" key to go forward through the codes or pressing the "Channel Down" key to go back to the previous codes.
• You can try out each code by pressing one or more function keys such as power, volume or digit keys.
• When you've found the setup code that works for your device, press the "Select" key.

Your TV is NOT digital ready. IF you do not have cable or satellite, you will need a converter box. If you do have cable or satellite you have nothing to do or worry about as the cable or satellite box will automatically do the conversion for you. Hope this helps

Thats EXACTLY what happened to our tv!

Ours was originally locked on channel 4 but I left it unplugged overnight and now its oddly stuck on channel 3.

The only thing I can think of to do is try to search for/buy a remote that will work on the tv to bring the menu up again. I don't know how to manually reset it or do anything.

1. On the front of the TV press the MENU button to display the MAIN MENU.
   
2. Scroll through the choices using the VOLUME up and down buttons
3. When positioned on the selection you want press the MENU button again.
4. The first SETUP screen displays, asking you to select a language.
5. Scroll to the desired language ENGLISH, FRANCAIS or ESPANOL and once it is highlighted in green press the MENU button to make finale selection.
6. A SETUP screen appears asking if you would like the TV to search for all channel
7. 1. Yes
   2. Skip this step
   3. 0 Exit
8. Complete the SETUP routine or skip any of the steps and return to them later.

Most likely there is a problem in the power supply circuit inside the set. This probably would not be cost effective to repair. Thanks
