Acer display drivers for mac-mini ?

Default shows ONLY 1280 X 1024 and is horribly stretched! :( Only resolution options available are "Best for display" and "Scaled." Both have the same result and there is no option to choose a better resolution/aspect ratio. Currently using an app called "Display Menu" that allows me to change the resolution to 1440 X 900 which is the perfect aspect ratio, but shouldn't this simply be a native option? Having to open and configure the 3rd party app after every reboot seems senseless! Is there a native way to handle this?

Hi, may I know how are you connecting the mac-mini to the display? if it is VGA, that is the highest resolution it can go. But if you're connecting it via HDMI or DVI-D, it can reach its highest resolution for the monitor. did have similar problem last time, but solved by using HDMI-DVI cable.

Get a new video card, you dont need the best video card to support 1440*900. It is affordable and the best solution.

SOURCE: Acer LCD AL1716W Monitor shows lines

Just got this new Acer for Christmas but now that it is hooked up it seems to have stretched the screen and by doing so filled in the stretch with little lines. How do I fix this. My old CRT worked fine. Is this do to the regular 4:3 ratio but this uses a different ratio that seems to have stretched the screen? Any help will do. Thanks.

SOURCE: Resolution issues with Acer LCD al 2216w

Possibly this will help. I have installed two1680x1050 LCD screens this past year: your 2216W model on a new PC, and a similar model from another maker on my wife's older HP PC.

Mine worked at the native resolution, my wife's did not. Difference: the age of the computer's (actually Windows XP's) native software for monitors. I went to Control Panel, Display, Advanced, and slid the left-hand slider control to view the various resolutions available. On the newer computer, the highest resolution choice was 1680x1050. On the older computer, the choice was not given. The choices stopped somewhere areound 1270 by 1080.

Solution was to download the newer driver from (as I recall) the computer manufacturer's website, using their regular download/update channel. That gave my wife's older computer the necessary top-end resolution. It was not something the monitor manufacturer could have fixed.

SOURCE: My monitor displays images in stetched full screen format

the description you gave was the long way right click on my computer, select properties then device manager, you will be in the same place but lots faster, plug and play does not identify the monitor or its compatible display resolutions, right click on the desktop select properties then display settings, go into advanced tab and look at the monitor, and the adapter, you can play with the setting until you find one that works, 1400 x 900 may not be supported by the video card(adapter) so that may be why your loosing the video settings.
hope this helps.

SOURCE: Native resolution suddenly scrolls.

The native resolution for the Acer AL2216W is 1600X1200. It is acting correctly for the resolution you have set it to.

HELP! bought a BX2450 Samsung monitor and it`s not showing full resolution, i need a driver for my macbook pro 13` (mid 2010) anyone????

I have a very strong suspicion that you are connecting your Macbook Pro to the VGA input on the monitor instead of the HDMI.

Your Macbook Pro uses the Mini Displayport connection type. Are you using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter? If not, purchase one and that will resolve your issue.

If you are already using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter, make sure your resolution is set to the maximum (1920x1080 according to Samsung's website) in Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays > Display.

If available, select the 'Best for Display' option which should automatically set the maximum resolution for the display. If not, select 'Scaled' and choose 1920x1080.

DISPLAYS ARE SIDEWAYS STRETCHED

This problem is because, when you formatted your PC, you have installed improper display driver of your PC model. This is also because of less capacity display/graphics card.

Everything on the screen appears stretched

If you can, set the Screen resolution to the maximum native resolution your monitor supports by adjusting the slider. to 1680x1050, if you can set it to that, then Windows will automatically display at the proper aspect ratio, and the monitor will not have to stretch anything. Setting your screen resolution to match your monitor's native resolution is, by far, the preferred solution to get you the best looking display.
If that specific resolution is not available, then you'll need to try resolutions that are smaller than that, but ideally with the same aspect ratio. 1512x945, for example, would maintain the same aspect ratio. Not all monitors handle running at less than their optimal resolution well, and it may result in a slightly fuzzy display, but it won't be horizontally stretched. If this fails to fix the problem it could be a problem with your video card

Acer P193W monitor stretched image

What service pack of windows xp are you running? Also, do you have your old monitor, if so, then plug it in and see if the same problem occurs. If not , go under the settings for your graphics card (not windows display options) and see if there can be a correction made to the settings for your monitor. Also, try going to microsoft.com and updating your computer (it's free) and you'll probably get the required driver to fix the problem from them. Check under your control panel and see if you have automatic updates turned on, if so you may want to limit what updates are to be installed by allowing updates but you choose which one's to install. 2 problems: 1. Is there a way to make the images on my 19 inch acer lcd monitor not appear stretched? 2. How do I get a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 (It's not one of the options in my display...

1. The only way to avoid stretching of images is by increasing the resolution. Many 19-inch monitors with conventional (4:3) aspect ratios have 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. The 1600 x 1200 resolution is ideal for graphic artists and those who work with photos, since it's close to the resolution of a 2-megapixel digital photo.

2. You can double check by going to the display properties - Settings- Advanced tab below the screen resolution slider, choosing the Adapter tab, click List all modes and that will settle it once and for all. If 1440 x 990 isn't listed you're likely going to have to buy a graphics card that can reproduce that resolution.

Also try and update the driver for your graphics card.

Distorted screen

Youre problem is because when a widescreen monitor is fed with a signal that is not ws it stretches the image sideways making people look short and fat. The only way to really fix this is to make sure the graphics card is providing a widescreen resolution to the monitor. In this case the native resolution (the resolution the screen looks best at) is 1680 x 1050 . If you right click ur desktop and go down to properties and settings u want to change the screen resolution to a widescreen res.

Hopefully 1680 x 1050 ... if this is unavailable try 1440 x 900

If you have an nvidia graphics card you can also go to the nvidia control panel and change the resolution attributes. If the widescreen res isnt available u could also try the 'change flat panel scaling' and select the do not scale option.

Please note before starting any of this make sure u have the latest graphics and monitor drivers available.
