Getting a new mobile in the registration mode with my Gigaset 8825 base station.

The power supply of the base station is working correct? the cable from the power supply is not broken? and the cable from the power supply is inserted?
Just a few questions, things I would start with when my base station wold not have any lights.
Oops the base station of my Siemens Gigaset S79H does not have lights.

We've tried to register the Siemens A260 handset to the base but it continues to flash "Base".. and does not work.

The default PIN for base and handsets is 0000 - if it has not been changed

• Press Menu on Handset
• Scroll to Mobile Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Local Settings - press ok
• Scroll to Chang Pin - press ok
• Enter Current handset PIN - press ok
• Enter New PIN - press ok
• Display will show Confirm - Reenter PIN - press ok

They are not manufactured anymore, but you can buy used ones off Ebay.

To register your handset to that base station, you must put the base station in registration mode at the same time you put the handset in registration mode. This is how you do it. At the handset you push OK when it asks you to register. If it asks you for the pin enter 0000 (factory pin) and push OK. The handset should say "registering base 1". Then at the base press the page/reg key down until it flashes (its to the immediate right of the cradle where you rest the handset for charging). That puts the base in registration mode and now its looking for the handset and vise versa. Now watch your handsets display. If it asks to to select an intercom number, then push ok and your done. If it says "invalid pin" then you need to reset your pin on your base (thats a different problem see below). If the handset times out and never registers, you need to repeat the process a couple times, you may have a bad base or it needs to be defaulted. If you need to default your pin, you can do so but it will default the base station to factory settings. To do so remove the power from your base, hold your page/registration key down, and apply power back to the base. Count to 15, then let off the key. Turn off the power, count to five, then apply power again and follow the steps again to register the handset and you will need to reregister every handset that was previously running on it.

The power supply for the 8825 base is to be 13 volts AC, rated at 850 milliamps or higher. You can go anywhere from 13 up to 15 volts without hurting the unit, and a higher current rating is even better. We actually make them ourselves through bulk purchases of varieties of power supplys. Your next delimma will be the plug size, it is a pretty common size, most universal adapters will have the right size of the outer and inner connections.

If your system was working fine, and it all of a sudden started doing this, it sounds like your base has taken a surge of some kind. Your base needs replacing. You can try re-registering the handsets, but from my experience the problem is fatal. Now if this is a new installation and the handsets never work yet on the base, you just need to register them. To reset your pin on your base station, you push Menu, scroll to System Settings, DON'T PUSH SELECT, push * 6 5 # That will reset the pin.
