Hi Jeff, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC35 should charge completely within 3.5 hours, and when fully charged the light on the charger will go out. If the battery doesn't seem to be taking in any power, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take you through some quick diagnostic checks when you have your machine to hand. If a replacement part is needed, our experts will also be happy to confirm if this is covered under your machine's 2-year warranty.
You can reach the Dyson customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).
Best wishes,
Jack

SOURCE: My hand held Dyson vacuum will not charge. Every
My same symptoms are - after starting charge, Red light is on, then second light turns On. Then for a long time nothing happens. And later I have all three LED flashing.
I replaced battery and nothing changed.
Imeasured Power Supply voltage and found it 24.2v instead 28v as it stated on the label.
I opened it up and found that the three-lid chip marked 431 is faulty.
431 is a voltage shunt, which sets and controls output voltage.
You can use AIC431CUS or TL432 (TL431 has different pinout).
I replaced mine and volatge back to 28.25v and charger is now working as it should.
You can also use any TO-92 431 chip - there is enough room for it.
Good luck!
SOURCE: how do i change the motor on th dc08 dyson vacuum
Hi there, It is a bit difficult to describe how to change the motor for a Dyson DC08 so I have made a video. I think it shows how it's done pretty clearly if you like the video leave me a thumbs up or a comment. If you realise while watching that you need parts for your dyson I would recommend you check out Nelson Vacuums or Vacuumspot.
