Try finding the water source-turn it off-then on again after 10 min. Some ice makers have a reset button- check manual.

First make sure your water valve is working . If so , look for fill tube that fills ice maker to be frozen. If it is frozen , unthaw tube. If its not then replace the ice maker.

sounds like you have a problem with the fill tube at the Ice Maker. remove the IM and then the back wall ( evaporator cover ) , the fill tube is probably frozen. use a hair dyer to melt ice, be careful, the hair dyer can melt the fill tube and other plastic.

KITCHEN AID REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM We bought a used Kitchen Aid fridge YKSRS22Q (1993), the ice maker is not working but water does work. What should we check to see why the ice maker doesn't work?

Ice makers work off of temperature. If it's not cold enough in the freezer it won't work. Check the temperature with a thermometer, it should be 0 to +10F

Ice maker makes too much ice

In my Kitchen Aid bottom freezer there is a metal arm(?) that I lift up to stop the ice maker from making ice. When I start running low on ice, I push the metal arm(?) back down for it to make ice again. Hope this is the solution for your Kitchen Aid too.

No Ice From Kitchen Aid

Mark, your water valve has screwed the pooch. Replace it. The part number is 2199838.

What's happening is this... the valve that fills your ice maker is by-passing a small amount of water. This water has to flow through that tube, right? When very small amounts (drop by drop) go through the IM fill tube, they flash freeze. Eventually they (the frozen drops of water) form a big block of ice inside the fill tube. This ice creates a blockage which creates back-pressure whenever the IM "calls" for water. The back pressure eventually blows the tube off of the connection behind the fridge.

You say that this happened over night... no way. If you look closely at the ice cubes that you IM has been making, you'll see that they are hollow. Hollow cubes means that your IM isn't getting enough water... (because the fill tube is blocked).
