The motor struggles to turn the fan on my Braun Paximat N24 slide projector. Any ideas please?

My guess is the sleeve bearings in the fan motor need oil. I use teflon based oil.

My projector won't turn on. I press the power button and the power/standby light turns on then turns off.

More than likely one of the fans is not running. That could be because of a blown in-circuit fuse or a bad fan motor.

Why won't my warning light turn off?

Probably a fan that doesn't rotate, or one of the many sub-voltages is absent on the mainboard due to short circuited capacitors ( SMD's)

Projector won't stay on, the projectors fan goes higher and then projector turns off

It appears that the mainboard is not getting a feedback from the fan movement. Check if any one of the fans is moving fast. If yes then this fan feedback is not being sensed by the motherboard. try to replace the fan by interchanging the fans if tge connectors are similar. trace tye fan circuit on the mainboard which finally sends the signals to the main chip on the motherboard.

My projector won't turn on, only the power light shows red, the status light is blank. Tried the remote and manually turning it on.

If the power light is ON and status light is OFF; check if any objects are blocking the air inlet or outlet grill, and remove them if any, and carry out the following.
[1] Unplug the power cord from wall outlet.
[2] Make sure that the projector has cooled off.
[3] Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
[4] Press the power button.
Check whether the cooling fan has stopped. The problem is with overheating itself.
If these does not help you, your projector need service. OK.

I just bought a used NEC Multisync MT 840 projector with just over 600 hours on the lamp counter. I live in Japan. After about 4 or five minutes of working, the projector turns itself off and won't...

Possible problem is the faulty lamp cooling fan. Check the lamp cooling fan of your projector. if the RPM of fan is low then the lamp can get over heated. May be its has some problem.Do one thing, Remove the fan from the projector. In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now u can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the projector.

i have added a video how to oil the fan for make it easy for you.

How do i fix the fans that don't work, and cause it to overheat?

Depending on the problem with the individual fan--either it physically is not turning or it's not putting out a computer signal. Red is positive, black is negative(ground), and yellow is for the computer pulse--it tells the main board that the fan is turning. I've never been totally successful in repairing a fan for a projector. If it died due to heat expansion, (i.e, the motor binds and stops) you can't repair it. Sometimes, if the computer signal is gone, you can open up the motor and replace a bad component--remember, those fans operate in a HOT environment--better to try to find a replacement on the net. Look up Rotron (big manufacturer) and some laptop repair places--they can sometimes point you to sources of different size fans. I've found that in most cases, the fans were manufactured specifically for the projector company and you'll have to find one that is close enough in size and modify it to fit.---Rick
