You'll probably need to move to a newer machine -- they're very old and even at their best are slower than any machine from the last 6 years.

SOURCE: Apple Book G4 won t play or accept Cds Cd R and

You could try a cleaning disk if nothing is recognized. Something like THIS ONE at Buy.com. You might need a new drive though, which is pretty tricky with an apple. Someone on Craigslist should be able to replace it for about $50 plus the drive. You can find a used drive on eBay I'm sure.

SOURCE: how to save data from hard drive off my apple

You can drag and drop your files on to an external hard drive or USB flash drive, burn the files to CD/DVD using an application called toast - you will need a CD/DVD writer to do that. If you can find one, you can save your files to a zip disk.

SOURCE: hi ihave apple power book g4 i want reboot

login in single user mode as below:

Starting up in single-user or verbose mode

    1. Shut down the computer if it is on.
    2. Press the power button to start the computer.
    3. Immediately press and hold the Command (Apple) key and one of the following:
    • the "s" key for single-user mode. (Command-S)
    • the "v" key for verbose mode. (Command-V)
You have successfully entered single-user or verbose mode when you see white text appear on the screen.

Once you are in the Single user mode type the following:

fsck -fy <then press enter>

If this command returns with an error or reports that is found an error but fixed it then run the command again and repeat until the drive checks good.

Once you are done with the repair or feel satisfied, type 'reboot' and press enter.

SOURCE: I have a apple G4

Hello and thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

I recommend you boot your Mac into Safe Mode, to see if you can remove a possible folder(s) which may be affecting your Mac's start up function.

Try these steps:

-SAFE BOOT MODE-
• Reboot your Mac
• Upon restarting your Mac, press the Shift key.
• Hold the Shift key until you see a White Screen with Gray Apple icon and eventually a spinning gear.
• When you see the Spinning gear, release the Shift key.
• Allow the Mac to continue booting up. Also this may take a little while

(NOTE: this may take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to load to the Safe mode screen depending on the performance of your Mac, but if it exceeds this time, shutdown your Mac and try just once more. It may have just frozen up the first time around for you.)

• You are going to enter the Safe Mode (which looks like your main desktop environment - the only difference is certain start up items are disabled.)

• Once within the Desktop in Safe Mode
• From the Finder Menu, click Go> Go to Folder

• Type in this line: /System/Library/StartupItems
• This path, is going to take you to the System Library folder which has all of your Mac OS X Startupitems.
• Remove all of those folders to the Trash.

*Reboot your Mac normally and see if you can access your normal User desktop environment.

I hope this helps. If you have more questions, please feel free to reply back to this post.

How fix Loud g4 Hard Drives

Not sure what you mean by loud Hard Drives. Hard drives are so quiet you can barely hear them. If they are loud the only cure is replacement. However, I have never heard a hard drive that I would consider 'loud' in all my years in computing./ As you show a mirror fronted mac in your question - I think you may mean loud 'Fans'. This mac was notorious for its loud fans. They can be replaced, but I seem to remember a firmware fix from Apple to slow them down - or it may have been a 3rd party utility.

Powerbook g4 no brightness have yo use flash light

Okay. Try this
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25861?viewlocale=en_US
If it does not help then it is possible that the Back light on the screen is faulty. If you just purchased the computer, then you should go back to the vendor and ask him to change or fix it .

Does apple poewerbook g4 have webcam installed

No. You gots to get a Macbook or MacBook Pro for the built in web cam.
You can buy a Mac Ally web cam and clip it on the top of the powerbook for a web cam, but it looks odd in contrast to the stream lined architecture of the Power Book.

Slow youtube problem not caused by slow processor

This is not caused by spyware.
A recent QuickTime update is the culprit. PowerPC Macs all over the world are experiencing this symptom. There's no known fix for it; hopefully Apple has a fix in the works.
