I have a JVC GR-D70EK. I noticed it was rattling, and found pieces of what looked like fine glass rod - maybe about 1mm in diameter. I have been getting the 'Lens Cap' error sometimes (not always) but can't be sure if that is due to the inherent CCD fault that JVC have already acknowledged, or if it is anything to do with this glass rod? I can't really be sure that this rod came from inside the unit, but it seems that way. Do you know if there is a 'fine glass rod' inside these units, what it does, and what the symptoms would be if it got broken?
Thanks.

My camcorder had some thing rattling inside and when I took the cassette out to check I couldn't insert it again. And now there is no power and not responding to the charger also.
