The coffee brews fine however both warming stations are running extremely hot, 350 degrees and 270
You will need to check the heating element wiring to see that isn't a short on the neutral side. This could cause them to continue to heat even if the thermostat is working. If all wiring is ok check the function and resistance given by the thermostat.

look at the top of the coffee maker you'll see two screws and the warmer tray and the cover for adding water. remove the two screws and lift the top off. the warmer has two push on spade terminals. pull the wires off them. below is a tray where the water goes and you'll see a brass bushing. this is screwed into a fitting on the water tank. use a piece of steel as a spanner and unscrew this fitting. don't lose the gasket that's under it. the main wires for the burner element and thermostat are also under this tray. look at the top. there's nine screws that hold the top on the water tank. two white wires go to the tank warmer and two wires go to the tank heater inside. you can try turning up the thermostat setting to a higher range and see what happens. there's a copper pipe that comes from the tank to the sprayhead the tank holds approx three urn fulls of water. if you have an analog meter you can check the element for continuity on the RX1 range. Do the same with the tank warmer element. Bunn-o-matic has a web site you can buy replacement parts or nelson appliance can get you parts too.

I own a bunn and my brother's business owns 2 of these. The rule of thumb as he was told by the salesman is 2 oz of coffee grinds per 48 oz of water.

Make sure you are using the type of commercial coffee pot like the one in the picture. They don't have to have to be plastic with the metal bottom, they can be all glass. The commercial pots are heavy duty and usually disperse the heat well.
If you are using commercial pots the only solution without replacing the warmers is to put three pennies on the warmer and to put the pot on top of them. The pennies will get hot so don't forget and grab them but the pennies help to move the pot just a little way away from the direct heat.

Hello this coffee maker has a one and a half gallon internal tank, could be one of a few problems, first thing to check is the spray head, unscrew this you may need some channel locks to get it off and check it..use a tooth pick to clear the 6 holes with any lime that may have formed...also if you use a commercial coffee company for your coffee they should have supplied you with a spring to clean the spray head tube. After checking these 2 items the next thing to check is there enough water in the tank..when the vpr is left on and not used for a few days the water in the tank evaporates..it takes approx two and a half pots of water to fill up the internal tank...try pouring another pot of water in...also turn machine off and take the 2 screws out of the top and see if there is lime blocking the drain hole in the fill pan. Some people also try adding fresh grounds to brewed grounds, resulting in an overflow. A restricter valve can be used, but a better solution is to simply pour in half the water at a time. This is what people who buy non Bunn filters do to stop overfills.
