I think you need a new camera. Even when you think you could fix the shutter, there can and will be more damage to the camera. Today, a single repair could cost more hen a brand new camera with better specs then the one you would like to have repaired.

You will be able to replace the shutter button alone to resolve the issue. It is not required to replace the whole body. You can contact sony direct accessories and Parts Center to get the replacement shutter button.
If you require assistance with contact number to reach the accessories shop, you can ask me by clicking following link:

first of all congrats, ok the problem was inside of the lens unit maybe the goes inside of the lens gear thats why the shutter not work properly or blocking the movement of the said shutter parts.if you can open and clean inside parts of the lens its better if not just bring to service center and request for cleaning.
Hi, I've had the same problem - there are 4 legs that clip the zoom button on (which holds down the shutter button) and the ends of the legs snapped off. I didn't drop it or anything, just one day when I got the camera out the shutter button fell right off.
If you're in the US you can get a replacement part from here: http://www.pacparts.com/model.cfm?model_id=EXZ110&mfg=CASIO&back=0&action=list_part
I think the part no: 10213210 is what you're after. Note that it's $8.50 (USD) and then they charge $11.50 (USD) to post it to you!
Unfortunately I'm in NZ and they won't sell it to me.
I bought a "for parts" dscw50 off ebay & unscrewed the side panels; this allowed me to remove the whole top panel (entire silver piece) & exhange it with the one on my own camera which I had broken the shutter button off of. Works fine now.
You must be referring to the mirror. In the second part, you must be referring to the focusing screen. If you have not dropped it, there is no likelihood of this getting damaged. You could probably be looking at the split image screen. There is no quick solution for the problem. Please take the camera to the nearest service center.
Hey melboz, You can purchase a replacement shutter button from the manufacturer for about $18 and I have included a link to the part for sale at Sony. If the camera is less than a year old the repair could be free thru the manufacturer, but I am assuming this is not the case since Sony is telling you they want $140 to fix it. I have never replaced this shutter button myself but from what I can tell by searching the internet it is not too difficult to do yourself. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
There is like a metal cradle inside the camera in the roof that flips down. The Focusing screen is to be placed in the roof of the camera with the small tab facing OUT of the camera. The Cradle then lifts upwards and clicks in.
do not touch the main part of the focusing screen. Try only to touch the tab
