I have a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV140E Digital Camcorder. I am trying to connect it to my PC via a front USB 2.0 port using the cable that came with the camcorder. I know that the camcorder, cable, and computer are all working properly, and I've already tried restarting my computer. The computer does not recognize that any device is connected to the USB port at all. Also, if there was a driver disk that came with the camcorder, I don't have it anymore. All the drivers I can find online are for Windows Vista or XP, and Sony has no information about the camcorder anymore.

This is one of the few models of Digital-8 camera that can transfer video to computer with a USB lead. It will be USB at BOTH ends, but the camera end will be a miniature version. Don't confuse it with the Firewire connection (Sony call this i.Link) which is different and incompatible with USB.
I found several USB leads for this camera by searching Amazon for "DCR-TRV140E usb". The cheapest was about $3.
