Rca p61310 power up for 15 seconds and the power light turns off
I had taken the back off to fix the ac plug, after i put all the cables back together, now the unit will power up - but the power led turns off. I hear the main fan. but after I turn of the TV, the power light goes off, and the 2 smaller fans cycle on / off. Any suggestions?
Re: rca p61310 power up for 15 seconds and the power...
Hi, this is a faulty power board. i would replace this damaged circuit board. thisWill fix this issue you are having at this moment with your unit. The reason for the on/off cycling fans is due to the power board controllers inability to open the main fan circuit, which shuts off the fans once you power down the unit.

Take off the top keyboard and power lid. Check for damage to the power flex cable. Plug in AC adapter. The port where connected power flex cable should have two or three pins. With small screwdriver try two-pin jumper shortly. Does not turn on again? All you need to replace the motherboard
Computer turns on but no display. This issue is commonly caused by electrical static on the motherboard. Try doing a power drain.
If this computer is a laptop:
1. Turn the computer off by pressing the power button for a bout 5seconds.
2. Take the battery out of the computer.
3. Unplugged the ac adapter.
4. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. (without any power source)
5. Put the battery back in and plug the ac adapter back into the computer.
6. Turn the computer back on.
If this computer is a desktop:
1. Turn the computer off by pressing the power button for a bout 5seconds.
2. Unplug the power cable from the computer.
3. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. (without any power source)
4. Plug the power cable back into the computer.
5. Turn the computer back on.
Sorry to hear that. To tell you honestly, this sounds like a video card issue. But, of course I will not jump into a conclusion without doing some diagnostics. Kindly try doing a power drain which most of the time causes issues with the display. Follow the steps below please.
Make sure the computer is off. If the indicator lights are still on, press and hold the power button down for about 5 seconds or so, until indicator lights goes off.
Take the battery out of the computer. Do not forcibly take it out. Most laptops have latches to unlock the battery.
If the ac adapter or the charger is plugged in the computer, unplug it.
Without any power source, press and hold the power button down for about 15-30 seconds. This drains electrical static on the motherboard which, again, most of the time causes issue with the display.
After 15-30 seconds, put the battery back in and plug the charge into the computer for sufficient power supply and turn the computer back on.
If the display comes back up, then good. However, if you still have a black screen on both the built-in and the external monitor then the problem is the video card. If you have no display on the built-in LCD screen but there is display on the external monitor then the problem is with the LCD itself or the inverter cable, a cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. I hope this fixes the issue though.
There is another way to reset the router called hard reset..
you need to hold down the reset button for 45 seconds while its turned ON and don't let it go. After first 15 seconds, take the power cable out but still keep holding down the reset. After second 15 seconds, insert the power cable back in but still keep holding down reset. After last 15 seconds, release reset and turn off the router for 30 seconds.
0-15 = Power ON, Reset button Pressed in 15-30= Power OFF, Reset still Pressed in 30-45= Power ON, Reset still Pressed in
If it still doesn't work then you got a bad router, can't be fixed. :-(
Unplug the power cable... Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds... Plug cable back in and check for light... If this still didnt work, then unplug cable again, take battery out, wait 10 seconds.... Put battery back in, plug cable back in and this should allow you to boot...
