Power light blinking on and off

ViewSonic VX910 monitor appears to have power supply issue. The power light comes on for <1sec, then goes off for about 1 sec, then flashes. This cycle repeats continually. I disconnected the display portion of the monitor and the problem continues. I can not disconnect the video input pcb because the power ON/OFF is routed through the video board. Any way to test the power supply seperately? Any other recommendations? Thanks, Audie

I have a ViewSonic VX910 LCD monitor. I turn it on and it comes on for a second then goes black. I did replaced all five capacitors in the power supply board, but it didn't help, still the same problem....

AllI can think of is that a tripler or inverter could be breaking down, causing the unit to go into auto
shutdown mode. Some devise is breaking down, and causing the unit to shut down.
Not an easy problem to troubleshoot unless you've got a schematic and tech skills.
Hope this helps

I turn it on and it comes on for a second then the goes black

You need to open it up and inspect the capacitors (look for bulging top/seal), burnt inverter transformers, resistors, etc. in the power supply/Inverter board first, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed Viewsonic monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

try running the self test on the monitor
Self Test:
turn off the system disconnect the data cable from the tower and connect only the power cable to the monitor and trun on the monitor if you see colour full bars then the monitor is ok then try to go BIOS and see if the monitor is working

ViewSonic VX910 monitor has a power supply issue.

Your monitor have a bad condensator in the PSU.

The only thing to do is to replace the Power Supply Unit (very expensive, more than a new monitor) or if you have electronic tools, found and replace that condensator.(cheaper way...)

or

Have you connected your monitor with a new power cord ?

Best Regards!
